    Winning performance by Kellaway.

Cecil Kellaway was living in Australia when he made this very funny little comedy about an Aussie farmer who inherits a British title and moves to England. This was only his second film, but he performs with great assurance. He also wrote the original story. Directed by Ken G. Hall, this film is a sophisticated and witty look at the differences between Australia and England. Although its pace lags a little in the central section, and an over-reliance on rear projection makes it look a little odd, this film is still an enjoyable experience. It was filmed in Australia, mostly in a studio, with backgrounds filmed, on obviously different film stock, in England.

The film is also notable as the debut of Shirley Ann Richards, who would become a big star in Australia and later, as Ann Richards, play some good roles in Hollywood. It also features a brilliant performance by Harvey Adams as a confused English butler who is charmed by the earthiness of his new master.

    • Trivia
Hilda Dorrington, playing the role of Mrs. Ashton in this 1937 Australian movie 'It isn't Done', is the great grandmother of television star 'Sean Murray' currently appearing as Tim McGee on CBS' #1 rated show, N.C.I.S. Acting definitely runs in this family.
