    Missed on some moments

Bob Dillon discovers gold on his boss' claim, but makes the mistake of telling three of his fellow ranch hands (Reed, Wilkes, & Jenkins), who decide to keep the claim for themselves. They kill Bob and then purchase the ranch land from Foster, by selling back cattle rustles from his range. Dillon's brother, Jim (a Texas Ranger) comes to town to find out who killed his brother. Jenkins is captured by Jim, and is killed by Reed before he gets a chance to talk and Jim is framed for the killing. Jim escapes thanks to old coot Pop to go after Reed and Jenkins despite a wanted dead or alive bounty is put out for him. Good oater, with great pacing and decent script make this a fun hour. Maynard is good again in the rare starting role, and Dwire is fun as the old codger. The rest of the cast is given little to do here and are just wall decoration. Rating, based on B-westerns, 7.

    • Trivia
This film is one of over 200 titles in the list of independent feature films made available for television presentation by Advance Television Pictures announced in Motion Picture Herald 4 April 1942. At this time, television broadcasting was in its infancy, almost totally curtailed by the advent of World War II, and would not continue to develop until 1945-46. Because of poor documentation (feature films were often not identified by title in conventional sources) no record has yet been found of its initial television broadcast. It's earliest documented telecast took place in New York City Sunday 30 May 1948 on WATV (Channel 13); in Chicago it first aired Monday 11 April 1949 on WBKB (Channel 4) and in Los Angeles Saturday 22 April 1950 on KTTV (Channel 11).
