    Those were the days

After all these years I was able to catch a copy of this movie. Although the acting is terrible there is really a story in this XXX roughie. Made in the 70's this was the time of Grindhouse and the so-called XXX roughies. The hardcore isn't that "hardcore" after all and the 'penetration' inserts made you think, what the hell, sure that they were from stand-ins. The end of the movie has a surprising plot and makes it watchable. Not that good as other 70's roughies but clocking in at 70 minutes it's worth watching. The only problem is that there isn't a deasant copy to find of this movie. The DVD's that are available are VHS rips of a serious bad quality. But that makes it more 'a watchable grindhouse'.

    Stockholm Syndrome; the Triple-X edition

Natural born beautiful and cherubic Serena stars as Lorelei, the daughter of a wealthy businessman who gets abducted on the parking lot of a shopping mall by a duo of thugs. On the way back to their hideout, the poor girl is already raped and sodomized in the ramshackle van. The first hardcore footage is already in the customary rough and misogynic style of late 70s adult-exploitation cinema, with lines like "No please, not in there!". Back at their hideout, there's a third female accomplice and they take polaroid pictures of Lorelei in humiliating positions to send to her father and demand $1.000.000 ransom for her release. Lorelei gradually uses her charms, and her physical trumps, to seduce her kidnappers and create distortion between the three of them. "The Abduction of Lorelei" obviously isn't a pleasant viewing experience, and I honestly don't even know why I'm reviewing it. One could state that the plot attempts to work around the theme of "Stockholm Syndrome", where a hostage develops a sort of psychological (or, in this case, physical) alliance with his/her captors as a survival strategy, but it's really just about the sex. The film has become so obscure over the years that the only available copies suffer from a downright dreadful picture and sound quality. From an exploitation/cult cinema point of view, "The Abduction of Lorelei" doesn't nearly play in the same league as titles such as "Forced Entry", "Femmes De Sade", "Water Power", "Unwilling Lovers" or "Hardgore".

    Thank goodness for the internet

When I was 8, I was over at a friend's house, and his parents were weird swinger types. Openly smoked pot in front of the kids, owned a waterbed, and had the earliest vcr I remember anyone owning. On this occasion, when we were watching a copy of The Empire Strikes Back, I saw a tape labeled "The Abduction Of" and I forgot the last word, but it was a woman's name, an unusual name.

We put that tape in and watched it from where it was cued. It looked very much like a rape/snuff film. Low budget, woman tied up, group of guys molesting/penetrating her. We watched less than five minutes before we both panicked and turned it off, worried that my friend's dad would somehow know the tape had been watched, we wouldn't be able to rewind to the same spot, etc.

For years I thought I had seen an actual underground rape (or worse) video, until for the first time in a decade or more, the memory popped into my head. I googled for the portion of the title I remembered, and it's just a mid 1970s cheap porn film, like Deep Throat or Behind The Green Door.

    • Trivia
After the first pre-censored cut version was officially banned in Australia by Australian Film Censorship just once, due to it's brutal Sexual Violence theme, the film distributor 14th Mandolin was seemingly being upset at their decision not to screening this film in Melbourne as originally intended. They at 14th Mandolin then angrily dodged at their big ban decision and illegally screened it to the audiences in the smut cinema called "Club Cinema" in Melbourne for exactly 14 days straight from 1st to 14th September, 1983. The owner of that cinema has successfully averted persecution by bribed the large amount of money to Law Force officers.
