Not a film I'd recommend as both the script and acting are of a very low quality, even by predictable romcom standards. The two main characters are both unlikeable for different reasons, the male lead not much for being a 'sexist pig' as the film suggests, but more just for his overall arrogance and one dimensional personality. The female lead is fairly bland and goes from being uptight and sensible to hopelessly in love with 'Mr. Charisma' in a short span of time. Neither have any real chemistry with the other.
The direction seems to take some inspiration from movies like Tootsie, it includes scenes of the TV medical soap which the two main characters star in, so at times we're meant to wonder which scenes are real and which are part of the show. It's not handled very well, however, and is overdone.

I wasn't expecting much from this movie when I rented the video. I decided to give it a chance solely on the strength of the performances given by Traylor in "2 Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place" and Lauren graham in "Gilmore Girls". I was however pleasantly surprised to find that it is actually a very funny and entertaining movie. Some of the performances by the supporting cast, including the two ladies that got me to rent it in the first place, we're a tad weak, but the 2nd surprise the movie had in store for me was Edward Kerr's performance which was VERY good, and definitely the best bit of acting I've ever seen him put forth. If you're looking for an entertaining movie that provides a few good laughs, this one is a must see.
I had the pleasure of seeing this film, by accident, at a screening at Kodak and was really shocked!!! It was soooo funny!!! Well written... excellent direction and a funny cast. THE SAD JOKE IS... I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS FILM DIDN'T GET INTO SUNDANCE!!! WHAT A CRIME!!! Does this film even have a distributor??? Wow, talk about a gem completely "overlooked" by the industry. I only wish I could see it again!!!

This is Indie Film making at it's best. Sandy's direction is brilliant. The movie sucks you in as the director artfully and delightfully plays with your sense of what's real and what's part of the TV show. Excellent film... Must see for any Indie Film lover or Romantic Comedy lover. My question is... has this film found a distributor??? Or been released
i was so taken away by the movie when i saw it at the Mannheim Heidelberg Film Festival that we arranged to show it at our student theater her in Darmstadt Germany two years later. (some trouble about the rights at first)
and you won't believe it the director sandy tung took our offer and came to Darmstadt with his family to attend the screening !! and this without major money behind it. (we only paid his ticket in bunk class!!)
he and his wife Farrel (cutter of this movie and NYPD-Blue) are really great people and it was a big fun to talk to them about the film.
Some trivia: He tried to make the film for some years and was turned down once because the then planed lead actor was not considered to be of "star potential". To see the irony here you will have to now that it was BRAD PITT!!!
ciao markus
