Jame Avalon pours on the style in this big-deal production for VCA Platinum that he made early in his career. It's a very thin premise, more like a porn schlocker than an A-budget movie, making it disappointing apart from the hot sex.

Jon Dough hires down & out private eye Mike Horner to track down a girl he's obsessed with, ever since he encountered her at a swingers' party. He has a polaroid of her naked backside as the only identification, and with a big retainer Horner goes hunting for the missing Cinderella, with no glass slipper.

It's a silly story with flashy but repetitive situations, all geared toward anal sex. Juli Ashton, VCA superstar, is fine as Horner's assistant and I was turned on by favorites like Rebecca Bardoux and Ariana in fancy sex stagings. But overall it's much ado about nothing.

For such an anally fixated adult feature, this one's surprisingly fun with its eminently cute concept of a smitten millionaire requesting the services of a private eye to locate a woman he encountered during an orgy, with just a Polaroid of her bare backside to go on, borrowed from Gerard Damiano's classic carnal comedy NEVER SO DEEP. The women are all extremely pretty while the guys act goofy, thankfully without getting on the audience's nerves. What could have turned into an irritatingly facile farce somehow works thanks to a generous helping of deliberately corny jokes and a couple of seriously scorching sex scenes.

Cute as a button Tammi Ann, from Greg Dark's otherwise disappointingly aloof NEW WAVE HOOKERS 4, really shines in both her raunchy sex shop threesome and the concluding wedding night fantasy and each - all too rare - Vanessa Chase appearance should be treasured, especially her brief but passionate fling with a hilariously accented Tom Byron. Still, this proves radiant Juli Ashton's show all the way, the star giving her all - and, boy oh boy, I'm not kidding! - in four separate sex scenes while retaining an endearing insouciance as private dick Mike Horner's resourceful Girl Friday.

It certainly doesn't hurt matters that production is way beyond average for this sort of thing with bright 'n' colorful photography by stalwart Jane Waters, flashy MTV style editing by D3 and a superlative eclectic Dino and Earl score, one of the best recently heard in porn. Director "Mondo Tundra" is better known as "James Avalon" these days, yet both of them are pseudonyms for former journalist and Velvet magazine adult film reviewer Kent Smith.
