Stubby Pringle's Christmas

My husband and I were enjoying a wonderful Christmas in 1984. It was wonderful because our "special" little daughter age 2 and born with severe problems was able to be home with us. Her other Christmas' were spent at Primary Children's Medical Center. It was quite late and we were setting up our oldest daughter's Santa Claus gifts, when we started watching this wonderful movie. We were extremely moved by this movie and now, hind sight being 20/20 vision, wished we would have thought to tape it. I think it's a shame that this movie can't be shared with everyone on a regular basis because in my opinion it's right up there with "It's a wonderful Life" which seems to be the only older Christmas movie that the networks seem to be able to find. I have searched all the various cable and local channels each holiday season to see if it will magically appear, but to my disappointment it never does. We just found this web-site last night because once again, we thought about it and expressed our desire to see it again. I don't understand why it hasn't aired again - at least to my knowledge it hasn't, and I would love to have it in our video collection. It would be nice to show our children what "quality" Christmas movies are - because each year they get more rare. If someone has the power - please contact whomever has the ability to make this movie available. Thank you for creating this web-site.

What a wonderful movie, too bad that it is not available for people like me who have tried to get a copy of it for over 20 years. I saw the movie in 1978 and have looked for it ever since! With so much garbage on television and in the theaters these days, what a treat it would be to be able to share this movie with my children and grandchildren. To be this devoted to a movie I have only seen one time and searching for it for more than 20 years, you can be assured I was impressed!

Well, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only person who was delighted by the movie and disgusted that copies aren't readily available. If anyone finds a source please alert me as well. I watched it, was enchanted, waited to see it offered again over the years, and I am annually disappointed. I was at a Christmas gathering today and one of the questions asked of each individual at the party was, "What is your favorite Christmas movie"? I replied "Stubby Pringle's Christmas". Nobody else at the party had seen or heard of this movie. I can't believe that it wasn't popular enough to be released every holiday season. In fact it isn't even listed at google under "movies starring Beau Bridges" !

I saw this show, I believe, back in the early 1980s and something about it stuck with me. I've never been able to find it again, or until recently, even mention of it. At the time I watched it alone, and have always wanted to share it with my family. Everybody keep there eyes open in case it turns up.

There is more true Christmas spirit in this movie than in anything else I've ever seen. It really is as good as the ratings indicate.
