Sharon Stone is throwing stones at “Another Simple Favor.”
Director Paul Feig’s sequel film stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, reprising their roles from 2018’s “A Simple Favor.” However, Stone claims she, too, was part of the ensemble cast.
“I Loved being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all Loved it,” Stone wrote to an E! News Instagram reel about the film. Stone was in talks for the role that later went to Elizabeth Perkins. A source close to production confirmed that Stone was never actually cast in the film; the deal did not go through due to budget issues. IndieWire has additionally reached out to representatives for Amazon MGM Studios and Stone.
The rest of the ensemble includes Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Elena Sofia Ricci, Henry Golding, and Allison Janney.
“Another Simple Favor” premiered at SXSW as the opening night film.

Grab your martinis, the sequel to “A Simple Favor” is almost here.
Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively reprise their respective roles for Paul Feig’s highly-anticipated sequel to the beloved 2018 film. This time, “Another Simple Favor” is taking the toxic housewife duo abroad, as Lively’s character Emily is getting remarried.
The official synopsis reads: “Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.”
Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Elena Sofia Ricci, Henry Golding, and Allison Janney co-star.

Keanu Reeves. Probably one of the most popular actors in the industry today, who is loved by millions. He’s an unlikely icon in every sense and has helped define eras in Hollywood, from his teen days to his action-star period. The internet can’t seem to get enough of him, and his very image started the Sad Keanu posts, the wholesome Keanu memes, and the never-ending irresistible fandom.

The internet shouldn’t let us deviate from how talented an actor he is, and his versatility, especially; roles in comedies, romantic dramas, art-house films, and thriller/action flicks, has truly given new definitions to the range of his fan base.

Miss Congeniality, starring Sandra Bullock, Michael Caine, and Benjamin Bratt, remains one of Bullock's best performances. As Gracie Hart, Bullock is an FBI agent transformed into a beauty pageant contestant — despite her abhorrence of the events. The tomboy-turned-knockout competes at the Miss United States Pageant to investigate threats and violence against her fellow contestants, with pratfalls and gaffs at every turn.
The success of Miss Congeniality resulted in a sequel in 2005. Released five years after the original, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, united Bullock with Regina Hall in a female buddy comedy. Gracie Hart, too high-profile to be an effective FBI agent, becomes the face of the Bureau with Agent Sam Fuller (Hall) as her partner.
The first Miss Congeniality earned Bullock a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, was a huge box office success, and was fairly well received by critics. The sequel was far less successful and,...

By now the "'Die Hard' on a"-style movie is basically its own genre. John McTiernan's legendary 1988 actioner spawned more imitators than perhaps any movie in Hollywood history. Many action fans know, for instance, that "Speed" is essentially "Die Hard on a bus," and its follow-up, "Speed 2: Cruise Control," literally was supposed to be "Die Hard 3" before its script was rejected in favor of the "Die Hard with a Vengeance" screenplay. "Cliffhanger" is "Die Hard" on a mountain, "Air Force One" is "Die Hard" on a plane. Heck, even today we're seeing the movie reproduced in the form of Netflix thriller "Carry-On," a Christmas action movie which is essentially just "Die Hard 2" with Taron Edgerton and Jason Bateman.
While many of these imitators are excellent action movies in their own right, the "Die Hard" formula doesn't always produce such quality. Take "Aftermath," a new movie...

As amazing as Keanu Reeves is in the John Wick franchise, The Matrix: Resurrections, Toy Story 4, and even Sonic the Hedgehog 3, sometimes you just can't beat a classic. Ask anyone what Reeves' best action movie is, and you might get a few answers, including Point Break, The Matrix, or maybe even Constantine. But one film that you're guaranteed to hear is Speed, the 1994 action classic that temporarily gave the entire country a fear of buses.
Speed is enthralling audiences once again on streaming, as Max users can't get enough of Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock driving a bus and stopping a domestic terrorist (Speed was a wild movie!). The movie is currently putting in a strong showing on Max's Top 10 most popular movies of the week -- if it drops below fifth place, it might explode. Directed by Jan de Bont, Speed stars Reeves as Jack Tavern, a...

Sometimes, despite everyone's best efforts, a movie doesn't go the way an actor would like. Occasionally, there's something in the film they feel the need to apologize for. Maybe it's their own performance, or maybe it's something else entirely. Sometimes, it's even because of a serious social issue.
In the cutthroat world of Hollywood, there's no doubt it takes guts to apologize for a movie. There's a chance it could get film producers angry, and they're the ones putting up the money. But fans appreciate the candor, and maybe they'll go see the next movie the actor puts out.
Updated by Arthur Goyaz on January 31, 2025: Because some movies don't perform well or simply age badly, actors might feel inclined to apologize for taking participating in them. It's always okay to acknowledge past mistakes, regardless if they are personal or professional mistakes. This list was updated to include more actors...

Why did Keanu Reeves pass on Speed 2? (Photo Credit – Facebook/Prime Video)
Keanu Reeves made one of the smartest career moves ever by giving Speed 2 a hard pass. The first Speed was an absolute adrenaline rush, a steady ride of shambles and outbursts. So when they announced a sequel, everyone just assumed Reeves would be back for more but nope, he slammed the brakes on that one.
Instead of him racing against time, we got Jason Patric as Sandra Bullock’s new on-screen boyfriend. Not precisely something fans were hoping for. Reeves took one look at the script and knew it wasn’t exemplary. So, he trusted his gut and walked away. And guess what? He was right.

Jan de Bont’s Speed was a massive blockbuster success for 20th Century Studios, and more than that, it made Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock international stars. With the fame and money that the franchise made, it’s only logical to expect a sequel. Unfortunately, the John Wick star opted out of it.

Without Reeves, Speed 2: Cruise Control tanked at the box office, but it was more of a deficiency in the script. This is why the actor did not return—he wasn’t feeling it, in plain speak. Now, he’s got a new project that almost feels like it is set in the same atmosphere as Speed.

Homer Simpson is a man of many talents: Downing countless Duff beers at Moe’s Tavern night after night without so much as a hangover. Slacking off at work while never truly losing his job. Dumping so much pig crap into Lake Springfield that the Epa encased the entire town in a glass dome, turning it into essentially a giant snow globe.
A deep knowledge of movie trivia, however, cannot be counted among these skills, as Simpsons fans — who apparently include the overlords at IMDb — discovered during Season Eight’s “The Springfield Files.”
“I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over 50, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode!” Homer told Lenny and Karl of his ploy to get out of work using loops of old security footage during the 1997 episode. “I think it was called The Bus That Couldn’t Slow Down.

Let’s rewind to 1994. Speed became an instant classic, throwing us into the high-stakes drama of a bus wired to explode if it dropped below 50 mph. It had it all—especially Keanu Reeves as the heroic cop Jack Traven, Sandra Bullock as the witty passenger Annie Porter, and a plot that kept us hooked.

Naturally, fans couldn’t wait for a sequel. But then came Speed 2: Cruise Control in 1997. And, well it wasn’t what anyone hoped for. The high-speed bus was swapped for a slow-moving cruise ship, and Reeves didn’t return.
So, why did our beloved Jack Traven ditch the sequel, leaving Annie Porter to awkwardly flirt with a new guy? Turns out, the lead star had some solid reasons, and honestly? He dodged a bullet—or maybe a sinking ship.

Tom Hanks almost replaced Keanu Reeves in Speed? (Photo Credit – Instagram/Wikipedia)
Back in the early ’90s, Tom Hanks was in talks to play Jack Traven in Jan de Bont’s iconic action-thriller Speed, instead of the iconic Keanu Reeves.
Hanks passed on the project, though the reason remains unclear. His career choices show a preference for depth-driven films like Saving Private Ryan and Road to Perdition. Speed’s action-packed thrills likely didn’t fit his narrative-focused style.
But Hanks wasn’t the only megastar to sidestep the role. Tom Cruise also turned it down before Reeves snagged the part. At the time, Reeves had gained some buzz from Point Break and Bill & Ted, but Speed catapulted him into Hollywood’s action elite. By the time The Matrix rolled around, Reeves was untouchable in the genre—and Speed was a big reason why.

When Sandra Bullock Called Speed 2 “An Embarrassing Experience”: “I’m Still Embarrassed I Was In It”
Sandra Bullock Reveals Speed 2 Regrets ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Sandra Bullock has no qualms about admitting that Speed 2: Cruise Control is a movie she wishes she could undo. In a chat, while promoting her movie The Lost City, Bullock openly revealed, “I have one no one came around to, and I’m still embarrassed I was in. It’s called Speed 2.” And honestly? She’s not wrong. The 1997 sequel to the blockbuster Speed had a sluggish plot that might as well have been cruising in reverse.
For those who somehow missed it, Speed 2 centered on a slow-moving cruise ship heading straight for an oil tanker. You read that right: a boat, not a bus, and the threat? Not a bomb, but an inevitable collision. Talk about an underwhelming follow-up to the high-octane Speed (1994), where Bullock’s character, Annie, and Keanu Reeves Jack had to keep a bus...

Keanu Reeves has seen his career go from strength to strength through the power of sequels, and his next sequel should be Speed 3. Speed was one of the best action movies of the 1990s, and like many great action movies, it had a simple premise. A city bus is rigged to explode if it goes below 50 miles per hour, while an LAPD officer and a passenger work together to bring the situation under control. Neither Keanu Reeves nor Sandra Bullock were considered action stars at the time, and Speed added a new dimension to their careers.
Speed was a critical and box office success, and while Keanu Reeves was not in Speed 2: Cruise Control, the sequel starred Sandra Bullock, who reprised her original role as Annie. Unfortunately, Speed 2 was critically panned, earning just a 4% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie was such a failure that many fans and critics disowned it.

Why Did Keanu Reeves Land In A “Movie Jail?” ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Keanu Reeves is known for crazy comebacks, but according to Looper, before John Wick, he faced “movie jail” after turning down Speed 2: Cruise Control. The phase came after Reeves reached heights of success for playing Neo in The Matrix and the iconic Jack Traven in Speed. Fox rushed for a sequel after Speed became a $350M hit. But Reeves, who felt burnt out and craved new challenges, said no. That choice sidelined him for years until he finally reclaimed his action-hero throne with John Wick.
Fox had grand plans for Speed 2. Sandra Bullock was on board, lured by the promise of financing her passion project, Hope Floats. The plot swapped the original’s adrenaline-pumping bus for a cruise ship nightmare, but Reeves wasn’t sold. Why? “I didn’t want to do two action movies back-to-back,...

The original launched Keanu Reeves as an action star, but he passed on Speed 2 with good reason. While he had fronted Point Break a few years earlier, it was Speed that transformed Reeves into an action lead. The movie's success led to all the Keanu Reeves action movies that followed, but he was wise enough to pass on 1997's Speed 2: Cruise Control when it was offered. This saw Sandra Bullock return as Annie, with Jason Patric replacing Reeves as new hero Alex as the couple become trapped on a cruise ship seized by a vengeful hacker.
Speed 2 was a critical and commercial disaster, and sits at only 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and it barely recouped its budget. Bullock has confessed more than once that Cruise Control was a huge mistake, while Reeves appeared like a genius for passing on it. That's not to say his decision didn't come...

When an actor stars in a film, their promotional responsibilities are often written into their contracts. They have to appear on talk shows or post about the film on their social media accounts ... or even just not say anything bad about the production, no matter how the film turns out.
With the benefit of time, though, many actors look back on their work and want to let fans know that they were just as disappointed as we were. An actor trashing their own movie lets us know that they're human just like the rest of us, and that they too can tell when something just didn't work. It can also make for a great press anecdote. Take Dennis Hopper, for example, who told The A.V. Club that his son once asked him why he bothered to star in "Super Mario Bros." The "Easy Rider" star recalled telling his son, 'Well,...

“Pop quiz, hotshot…” Where can fans feel the need for Speed (1994) again? Well, Keanu Reeves’ highest-rated action flick begins streaming Dec. 1 on Hulu. Director Jan de Bont’s film, Speed, registers an almost perfect Tomatometer rating of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of this writing, which just edges out another Reeves fan-favorite, John Wick: Chapter 4 (94%).
Armed with its impressive Rotten Tomatoes score from the critics, it’s easy to see how Speed lucratively burst onto the scene well over 55 Mph back in 1994. The must-see action flick boasted an incredible cast that featured not only Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, but showed off the acting talents of Dennis Hopper as the villainous Howard Payne, while also featuring the heartbreaking demise of Jeff Daniel's character, Harry.

Which Film Does Sandra Bullock Regret Making? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Sandra Bullock doesn’t sugarcoat it: she still regrets being part of Speed 2: Cruise Control. In a chat about her new film The Lost City, where she teamed up with Channing Tatum, Bullock took a stroll down memory lane and admitted that her 1997 sequel to Speed is one project she wishes she could forget.
When TooFab asked about past films she was embarrassed by, Bullock didn’t hold back. “I have one no one came around to and I’m still embarrassed I was in. It’s called Speed 2,” she revealed. And honestly? She’s right. The film’s plot—a slow-moving cruise ship heading toward an oil tanker—is not exactly what you’d call thrilling.

Set to be directed by Shinji Higuchi and starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Bullet Train Explosion will follow a similar, adrenaline-fueled plot to both the original and director Jan de Bonts 1994 outing with audiences thrown onto the titular train, which cannot reduce its speed...otherwise itll explode. Bob Odenkirk has come a long way from exclusively being a comedian. Although he has been known to table in comedy from time to time, the actor has gained a reputation for his dramatics a lot more than he has for his jokes. When Speed 2: Cruise Control arrived in theaters in 1997, most audiences and critics steered clear of giving it any positive acclaim. The film, directed by Jan de Bont, received a dismal 4% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the least-loved sequels of its time. Gone were the high-stakes thrills of a runaway bus hurtling through the streets of Los Angeles. Instead, the setting shifted to a cruise liner, a sprawling but somewhat less high-octane environment that many felt lacked the pulse-pounding urgency of the original film. While this change disappointed most viewers, one notable critic took a refreshingly unconventional approach in praising the film—none other than Roger Ebert, who gave it an almost affectionate review.

In James Cameron's 1991 ultra-blockbuster "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," two sentient robots are sent back in time to the present, each given a specific assignment. The evil T-1000 (Robert Patrick) has been sent to murder the 12-year-old John Connor (Edward Furlong), as John will eventually grow up to lead a successful resistance against the Machines in a soon-to-come humans vs. robots war. The outmoded T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), once a fighter for the Machines, was captured by the futuristic human resistance, reprogrammed, and sent back in time to protect John Connor from the T-1000.
The script for "Terminator 2" delves deep into causality and the origins of the Machine takeover, set to occur in 1997, by the film's timeline. It seems, however, that there is a causality loop in play.

Graham Yost, the writer of action extravaganza Speed, claims that he and Keanu Reeves were lucky to avoid the sequel that could have sent their careers downhill. Speed 2: Cruise Control is a famously bad sequel and only a few came back for it, Sandra Bullock and director Jan de Bont, among those. Bullock managed to continue her career, but de Bont failed to recover.
Speaking to Comic Book about Silo Season 2, Yost remembers dodging a bullet with the catastrophically bad result of the Speed sequel. The question about a new sequel always arises, and the writer addresses the difficulty of bringing Bullock and Reeves together one more time. The problem is that Speed 2: Cruise Control seems to linger in the air as the nail in the coffin for the franchise. Per Yosts answer about a new Speed:

We’ve seen Keanu Reeves dodge bullets as Neo and John Wick, but his smartest “bullet time” came with Speed 2. If you’re thinking, Keanu Reeves wasn’t in the Speed sequel, then you’ve found the point.
Like Keanu Reeves, Speed screenwriter Graham Yost had nothing to do with the 1997 sequel, Cruise Control. While Sandra Bullock returned as Annie Porter, Reeves apparently hated the script, which wasn’t written by Yost, who has maintained that he wasn’t part of the process (despite working on ideas that would ultimately never be written). The movie would open at #1 but still quickly fall below 50 mph, taking in under $50 million domestically on a reported $160 million budget.
Recalling that troubling release for Bullock and the moment of relief for Reeves and himself, Yost (who probably doesn’t get enough credit for helping change the ‘90s action game) said, “That’s hard to shake off for Sandra Bullock.

There are lots of bad movies in the world. A lot of mediocre movies as well. And quite a few good-to-great ones. But there’s only one “Paddington 2,” which is literally one of the best-reviewed motion pictures in history. While not everybody thinks “Paddington 2” is one of the best movies ever made, per se, quite a lot of people kinda do. And even the ones who don’t have largely come to the conclusion that it’s sweet and fun.
Ordinarily, the idea of making a sequel to one of the best movies ever made would be a little anxiety-inducing, since how could lightning possibly strike twice? But “Paddington 2” is “Paddington 2.” There’s literally a “2” in the title. This “Peru” adventure is a sequel to a great movie that people not only liked more than the original, but is now one of the most celebrated movies of all-time.

Speed screenwriter Graham Yost offers an explanation as to why Speed 3 with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock hasn't happened yet. Released in 1994, Jan de Bont's original film features Reeves starring as LAPD officer Jack Traven, who works Bullock's Annie, a civilian, to stop a terrorist from blowing up a city bus if it drives below 50 mph. While Bullock reprised her role for Speed 2: Cruise Control in 1997, Reeves didn't return for the critically-panned sequel. Still, interest has remained for a potential Speed 3, and the project has gotten positive updates in recent months.
After the promising update on Speed 3, Yost explains why the threequel hasn't yet come to fruition during a recent interview with ComicBook.com (via Cbr). The writer, who did not return for Speed 2: Cruise Control, reveals that scheduling is one major factor, since both Reeves and Bullock are both massive, in-demand stars. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock can easily be two of the most bankable actors in the Hollywood business, with several well-acclaimed movies. But other than that, they also share a very beautiful, decades-long friendship. The duo crossed each other’s paths while working on the 1994 release Speed and have been friends ever since.
They also collaborated for a second time in the 2006 movie The Lake House, and fans wondered if there was something more to this friendship. Not so surprisingly, their camaraderie could have turned into something more in the midst of the movie, but the timing was just not right.

'That's Hard To Shake Off:' Speed Writer Is Glad He and Keanu Reeves Were Not Involved In The Sequel
The action-thriller movie Speed, starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, became a massive hit when it was released in 1994. However, the 1997 sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control, did not manage to repeat its success.
Speaking to ComicBook, Graham Yost, who worked as a writer on the first Speed movie, said he was relieved that he and Reeves were not involved with the follow-up. "There is also just the echo of Speed 2, and that's hard to shake off for Sandra Bullock," he explained, referring to the film's failure. Sandra Bullock has had a long and varied film career, with plenty of hits (like 1995's "While You Were Sleeping") and plenty of flops (like 1997's "Speed 2: Cruise Control"). According to Rotten Tomatoes, her two best films are also some of her most action-centric; at 95% fresh is 1994's "Speed," where she and Keanu Reeves are stuck on a bus that will explode if it ever goes below 50 miles per hour. At 96% fresh is 2013's "Gravity," where she and George Clooney are stuck in space and trying not to get hit by high-speed space debris. For whatever reason, Bullock is always getting stuck in places, and critics really seem to like it when that happens.
It's worth noting that the Rotten Tomatoes' tomatometer is often misunderstood. Getting a 95% rating on Rt is not like getting an A on a school assignment; all it means is that 95% of critics gave it a positive review,...

Hollywood’s most notable bombs are — sadly — just as well-known as its biggest hits, a factor that a new book joyously celebrates.
From British film critic Tim Robey, “Box Office Poison” digs up the dirt on some of cinema’s wildest misfires, from grand follies to misunderstood masterpieces, disastrous sequels to catastrophic literary adaptations, going behind the scenes to examine how they ended careers, bankrupted studios and changed film history.
Among the features in Robey’s crosshairs are David Lynch’s “Dune,” plus “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” “Gigli,” “Catwoman,” “Pan” and — of course — “Cats.”

The action classic Speed celebrated its 30th anniversary this year – and this might also be the year when a Speed 3 finally starts to get rolling toward production. Directed by Jan de Bont, the original film starred Keanu Reeves as LAPD Swat officer Jack Traven and Sandra Bullock as Annie Porter, an LA resident unlucky enough to be a passenger that a terrorist has planted a bomb on. Jack and Annie fell in love while dealing with that situation… but when Speed 2: Cruise Control came along three years later, Reeves did not return to the action alongside Bullock and de Bont. Instead, when Annie gets mixed up in another terrorist situation while on a cruise ship, she had a different man by her side: LAPD officer Alex Shaw, played by Jason Patric. Reeves skipped Speed 2: Cruise Control because he wasn’t satisfied with the script; which turned out to be a good call,...

20th Century Studios is (like everyone else in Hollywood) in the business of scrapping the bottom of the barrel for any piece of exploitable IP that can salvage the disastrous box office. Recently, we learned that the "Predator" franchise is not only coming back with a new theatrical release, but that there's even the possibility of another "Alien vs. Predator" movie in addition to the "Alien: Romulus" sequel that's (obviously) already in the works. On top of all that, and much more surprisingly, it seems that Jack Aubrey is closer than ever to returning to the big screen in a "Master and Commander" prequel some 20 years after the original film.
Still, the first "Master and Commander" was a critical success and earned many an Oscar nomination, while the first "Alien vs. Predator" movie was pretty lucrative. Making more of those, especially when both the "Predator" film "Prey" and "Romulus" proved popular and successful,...

One condition for Speed 3 explains why 1997's sequel to Speed, which also starred Sandra Bullock like the original film, failed to recreate its predecessor's success. With Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves as its leads, Speed performed incredibly well at the global box office after earning close to $350 million worldwide against a $30-37 million budget. Even from a critical standpoint, the movie was widely appreciated by viewers and critics and still boasts an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 95%. For obvious reasons, its success led to the development of a sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control.
Unfortunately, despite marking Sandra Bullock's return as one of its two leads, the sequel failed to leave its mark at the box office. 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell addresses the status of Speed 3. Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves starred in the original Speed released in 1994, with the story revolving around a bus that would explode if it went below 50 miles per hour. The movie's popularity led to the 1997 sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control, which was panned, and holds a dismal 4% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes. In the years since, there has been speculation about whether Speed 3 could happen with both Bullock and Reeves playing their original characters.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Asbell was asked to respond to Bullock's comments at the 30th-anniversary screening of Speed, in which she said Hollywood may not be brave enough to make a third installment now. Asbell confirmed that 20th Century Studios is interested in Speed 3, but it will only move forward if both Bullock and Reeves are involved with the movie and are excited about the idea.

Shot almost entirely on a bus, the movie grasps your attention right from the get-go, making sure your eyes are always on the screen, no matter what. The movie was very well-received by both critics and fans and is still considered one of the best additions to the genre. It eventually gave birth to a sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control, but we don’t talk about that.

Sandra Bullock's name above the title has meant mega-bucks for movie studios over the last 37 years. Combined, her movies have grossed billions of dollars at the global box office, making her one of the most bankable stars of her generation. She's done it by mostly exhibiting good taste in material and, of course, being her irresistibly bubbly self. Everyone, it seems, loves Sandy.
Bullock has a lot to be proud of (most notably the Best Actress Oscar she won for 2009's "The Blind Side"), but when it comes to her bombs, she'll be the first to tell you how lousy they are. She's earned the right to dish on disappointments like "All About Steve," "Two If By Sea" and, dear god, George Sluizer's Hollywoodized remake of his masterful Dutch thriller "The Vanishing." Hang around long enough in the film industry, and you're bound to appear in a stinker or two.

Even in the 90s dominated by the action movie stars of Hollywood, Sandra Bullock was singlehandedly making waves as a female lead raking in one blockbuster after another. Despite Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible, Brad Pitt’s Fight Club, and Bruce Willis’s Die Hard, Bullock swam through the noise to land on the shore of Hollywood legends.

After 3 decades of non-stop iconic performances, Sandra Bullock tirelessly keeps on delivering in every genre imaginable. Be it the post-apocalyptic horror thriller Bird Box, heist movie Ocean’s 8, buddy cop comedy Heat, sports biopic The Blind Side, or the sci-fi drama Gravity, there is no niche that Bullock hasn’t explored, including romance and rom-coms.

Speed's intense pacing never let up on the action, but one scene had audiences literally at the edge of their seats. Director Jan de Bont explained why that sequence was so thrilling.
Director Jan de Bont recalled a production mishap during Speed's filming, something he didn't want 20th Century Fox executives to learn. One of Speed's many highlights involved the bus hurdling a huge gap on the freeway; the premise hinged on the tension that a bomb would blow up the vehicle if it stopped or decelerated below 50 miles per hour. The bus did make it to the other side in the film, but Jan de Bont confirmed it was an entirely different story behind the scenes. Per The Hollywood Reporter, de Bont confirmed that the bus was not remotely operated, but was driven by a stunt driver.

Keanu Reeves is one Hollywood star you can rely on to be a true gentleman, and it seems 30 years ago he was being just that by protecting Sandra Bullocks modesty as they filmed stunts for the classic action thriller Speed. The pair recently reflected on the 1994 hit, settled the debate about whether there could ever be a third movie, and told some tales about how the production played out. Among the stories, the one about Reeves being in control of Bullocks skirt during their stunt scenes is one to treasure.
Reeves and Bullock appeared alongside director Jan de Bont at a screening with Q&a session in Hollywood earlier this week. A particular scene that was given special mention was the one during which the two leads finally escape the bus they had been keeping at over 50mph for most of the movie.
