Starstruck is an always engaging, endearingly awkward, and ultimately quite funny screwball nineties comedy masquerading as a much darker movie than it is capable of being. Jamie Kennedy, fresh off of Scream, does a respectable job as the anti-leading man, George Gordon, due to his amusingly overconfident portrayal of the character, which, to be fair, is ill-conceived and lacks depth. As characters go, it is Loren Dean who is given the most to work with. He chews the scenery as washed-up and strung-out actor Kyle Carey, the second lead and facilitator of the, for better AND worse, simplistic plot. Fortunately, the cast is damn good, all acting harmoniously with a satirical edge, and the leads have natural comic timing and chemistry. Additionally, the third act, which plays like a Martin McDonagh crime caper involving the stealing of Faye Dunaway's dog, is, albeit forced, a highlight of hilarious proportions. Overall, there is an amateurish air to the proceedings, but chances are, if you are a nineties brat with a rude sense of humor, you will, at the very least, get a kick out of Starstruck.

This movie is just so good! Despite Carmen Electra, this has to be one of the better films I have seen in awhile. Jamie Kennedy is just amazing, and Loren Dean plays an insane spoiled movie star very well. The plot is great as well. It's all very real which is scary. It says here that it's a drama, but this is one of the damn funniest dramas I have ever seen. Go check it out.
This is one of my favorite movies. It's funny and clever and surprising in a way that movies used to be in the good old days (the seventies?). It's not nearly as horrible as some of the reviews here spell out in excruciating detail. You'd think, from the negative reviews, that this was made by a self-indulgent director, with a no-talent cast, poorly edited and lacking any coherent plot.
Nothing could be further from the truth--which makes me wonder why such evil reviews were posted. This movie is very well made. The casting is perfect. The acting is first rate. The film as a whole comes together in a way that just "clicks." It's a very good little art film about Hollywood that has been very unfairly treated--not just ignored, but condemned. I would recommend that if you are a film buff and you liked, say, "Singing in the Rain" (not that I'm comparing them) or "Barton Fink" you should do yourself a favor and see this. If you hate it, well, you have your reasons. As for me, I will keep watching this classic over and over and over. And enjoying it.

Starf*cker , what i thought it was called Starstruck. Oh well it was an ok film i guess but on the other hand it wasnt. Loren Dean has what it takes to became a great headlining actor. His role in this film however is not going to be the one to get him there. This film was somewhat funny but other then that there wasnt much to it. I would not recommend this film to anyone unless they like stupid, very stupid humour.
I found this film to be outstanding. There's nothing more refreshing than a blatantly sexual film depicting overweight bakers in a race against time, trying to prevent death by popcorn drowning. What's more, the ending, a satirical look at today's current events, is more satisfying than that of the likes of the Shawshank Redemption, or the Deer Hunter. I give this movie a ten out of ten, for not only good acting, but a horribly unbelievable plot which actually seems plausible.
