This is a typical John Baxter film.He uses many plot threads used in other of his films. He features down and outs who band together to each other for the common good.In this film a rector deserts his parish because of malicious gossip. He finds comfort with down and outs in a doss house in the East End.A very young Eric Portman goes hunting for him and eventually finds him.He helps the men who are fighting a crooked shipping gang. There is a long sequence with some turns in a music hall. There is also a nightclub sequence featuring Jack Jackson and his orchestra. Many familiar actors feature including Bransby Williams.incidentally.the film lasts 68 minutes.
