    Quaint Comedy

This film was the first the 26 year old Johan Jacobsen made taking over the direction from the established A. W. Sandberg. After this debut Jacobsen elevated to become the prime danish comedy director in the Forties. Taking the modest story substance build around a cabaret like setup quite common of the time, Johan still manages to pull off a reasonable entertaining comedy with the prolific singing star of the time, Liva Wheel, here acquiring a more sophisticated personality than the usual down to earth farce like characters she usually portrayed in earlier films from the Thirties. As a must in the movies of that time a number of songs had to be presented and a couple of these render qualities better than the usual run of the mill outlets. This film led to other more brilliant achievements by Johan Jacobsen during the coming decade peaking with the sublime 'Mine kone er Uskyldig' from 1950 reaching Lubitsch like exuberance.
