The director Patrick Aurignac was an authentic petty hoodlum who was sent to jail, where he met high rate gangsters who took care of him. When he was released from prison, he took part in some armed robberies before being arrested again. This movie was his own story, but a commercial failure and pushed him to commit suicide at the age of 32.
