Dealers Among Dealers

This was an excellent, detailed insider look at the diamond dealing industry, from the talented and charismatic Harvey Lieberman! Some parts were just so intense I was on the edge of my seat, some absolutely hysterical, and there were a couple of guys just dripping with pathos. One detail I absolutely loved was the scene with all the diamond cutters at work in the factory, singing boisterously in Hebrew. All around, this was a real-life soap opera, entertaining and educational! I wish Harvey would produce more work as great as this, in front of or behind the camera. Even if you never had any interest in learning about diamond dealing, you've got to see this!

I knew this fascinating Manhattan district, having walked through it from my peripatetic days at WSC & later doing a shorter stint more than a decade later in training ...worth seeing repeatedly as this is a dense tapestry, with many threads celebrating and at the same time questioning worth beautifully photographed & edited maybe not for all tastes, but an outstanding feature documentary about a highly specialized industry with lessons for all Memorable, but inexplicably difficult to find
