Mary Steenburgen is joining “A Man on the Inside” Season 2 at Netflix, Variety has learned.
The casting is a family affair for Steenburgen, who will appear opposite her real life husband and series lead Ted Danson. Per the official logline, the show follows Charles (Danson), “a retired man who gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a Pi and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.”
Steenburgen will play Mona Margadoff, described as “a former musician who factors heavily in the case Charles is trying to solve.” Season 2 is slated to begin production in April.
Steenburgen won both the Academy Award and Golden Globe for best supporting actress for the film “Melvin and Howard.” She was also nominated for the latter award for the films “Going South” and “Ragtime.” She has also starred in films like “Time After Time,” “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” “Philadelphia,” and “Nightmare Alley.
