    A Golden Turkey

This made me laugh so much I wish I'd taped it to enjoy again. Risible dialogue, hopeless miscasting. Re-using the the same disused tunnel over and over again for every scene. The Airfix model of the USS Nimitz with rockets glued on that passed for the Helicarrier. It recalled Patsy's " It's only a model " quote in Monty Python's and the Holy Grail. The bloke off Holby City spoofing Hugh Grant's impersonation of a clichéd British fop. The Viper Nazi bird's horrendous over acting. The fact she disguised herself as the spy off 'Allo Allo' complete with beret and overcoat at one point was hilarious. The whole concept of Anarco - Nazi's was hilarious too.The bad continuity ( how did the LMD get into the Hydra base ? )The silly throw away lines. The unconvincing fight stunts. The bald Hydra blokes who looked like 80's techno rockers. I must find a DVD of this. There must be more bits I missed the first time. Everyone must have had a ball making this. Why wasn't there a sequel ?

    It couldn't have sucked harder.

Ok, so the mid-day viewing of the Sci-Fi channel has it's highs'n'lows. This was a low. Not because of another schlock movie with zero plot, horrible acting and zillion-year-old effects (and props!).

It sucks HARD because the original Sargent Fury was one of the most exciting comics I read back-in-the-day. The Sarge meant something. HASSELHOFF??????

I do hope producers read the comments posted here.

LESSON ONE: Decide what you want to be. LESSON TWO: If the answer to ONE: is "Parody", don't use an American icon as the subject.

If you really wanted to bring Hasselhoff back from the dead, get younger, cuter babes, put'em in nighties and redo Baywatch as a photo studio. Put it on cable with nighties so thin you can read the braille on their nipples. Ok, so we don't need Hasselhoff to do that, but put him in the background somewhere or the occasional cameo appearance.

Coulda had a winner here, guys. Blew it. An unknown (or Jesse Ventura) could have done a lot more to make this one fly.

    A Lot of Fun

Sticking to the content better than the still enjoyable telefilm Generation X, Nick Fury still provided a lot of enjoyment for fans of the comic who got to see their favorite characters brought to life. Having read the comics I found it fun seeing Fury, Gabe Jones, Dugan (Who was never called "Dum Dum" as he is in the comics, thank God), Quartermain, Viper and even Baron Von Strucker.

Hasselhoff did a good job, playing Fury much like he is in the comics, tough as nails yet likeable. Neil Roberts was a standout as Pierce as well, and I particularly liked Fury's line after he seemingly died ("I got better"). When have comic fans not heard that.

A great film. I watched it again not too long ago, and liked it still. A lot of fun for fans and anyone who enjoys stuff that doesn't take itself too seriously.

    Have a good day then.

It Was A Good Comic book rendition

This Movie Was not one of the High Budget Movies like Batman & X-men but for it being more a B-Grade movie. Its plot was a bit Choppy but there were many good features about Nick Fury. The Hench men were great the "Super" Villain wanted to carry out the plans her dad wanted to during World War 2 at any cost.

Like all good movies it had a Great action Sequences with some romance involved. Like the movies 'Escape from New York & L.A' (Which a lot of people seem to like) there is a time limit to beat. The use of futuristic style weapons (the DNA Gun has been used in other movies ie Judge Dredd), the Sprays (a bit corny but who knows with the way technology goes) and the use of cybernetics to be used a a form of trickery. Also it has some decent music to go with it.

Most of the cruddy stuff in the movie is in the dialogue. The escaping of the villain and being able to revive her dad and even make him look at least 15 years younger.

In my opinion the movie should be watched and enjoyed (ignore the dialogue) for its action sequence it ain't much different from the new James Bond Movies ie. 'Die another Day'

    Entertaining..

Out of interest, after never watching this movie until tonight on TV to get more information on it.

First of all I thought it was entertaining!

So much so I'd say a lot of the other reviews are just being to critical and on the "Hasselhoff is xxxx, haha, bandwagon".

Yea maybe David Hasselhoff is pretty cheesy in a lot of the shows he's been (or otherwise produced), and sure maybe he's no silent tough guy (like Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, etc.) but if you look past the stigma it's a pretty entertaining movie..

If you can catch it on TV, give it a go..

    • Trivia
Pierce mentions he trained at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Kirby Academy, a reference to comic book artist Jack Kirby.
    • Goofs
Viper uses the venom of a Columbian tree frog to poison Nick Fury but the secretion from these frogs, at best, can really irritate your eyes or skin if touched but not kill. Now, if she'd used the venom of the South American Golden Poison Frog, which contains enough poison to kill ten men, Fury would have been dead in seconds.

Jack Pincer: So, we meet again, Fury.

Nick Fury: Well, I'm not surprised, Pincer. Guys like you tend to cling to the bowl no matter how many times you flush.
