I first saw the film in 1998, and I was never tired of seeing the film again and again. Karishma Kapoor as Nisha gave a first rate performance even though she played second fiddle to Madhuri Dixit (Pooja). The story revolves around the life of dancers. Nisha and Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) are best friends. Unknown to Rahul, Nisha secretly loved him. Pooja came into the scene after Nisha accidentally slipped her foot during dancing practice for Rahul's next production drama entitled Maya. Desperate to search for Nisha's replacement, Rahul saw Pooja dancing in the studio. Pooja eventually replaced Nisha. During the production, Pooja and Rahul feel in love. Problem came early, since Pooja was engaged to marry Ajay (Akshay Kumar). The story is aim towards loving couples questioning about their own love to each other. Watch for the dancing steps of Karishma and Shahrukh, both were highly praised in the film for such energetic dance numbers.

Is there someone made for you ? If you don't believe in this yet, you better watch this film.It takes place on a theater stage, where the play and the reality mix up to show the genius of the director. Honestly, it is one of the best Indian films (of witch I am actually a fan)that I saw. Trust me, you will love the music, the dance, and many other things. But most of all, you will change your opinion about a great thing called : LOVE . You will have answers on questions about the borders between friendship and love .. I will not say more than one statement : if you didn't see the film yet you can't be a fan of love stories. This film is worth some hours from you life , so try to see it today ..
It is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. The acting of Sahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Karishma Kapoor is excellent. It has some excellent sequences and exquisite dance sequels. It's a very romantic and melodius movie. Karishma Kapoor is at her best in this movie. Every movie starring Khan is a hit but this one is the greatest hit ever made.
This is the first mainstream Bollywood film I've ever seen and I loved it! And I don't even like musicals! The part that got to me was the romance. I've always been a dreamer and I'm a sucker for the stuff in this film.
I also liked much of the dancing. It was more modern and Western than I expected. I'm anything but a dance connoisseur, but I preferred the stuff in this film to Alvin Ailey by a longshot. I'm looking forward to watching more Bollywood films now, though the selection of them with English subtitles is less than I would like.

Dil to pagal hai is a fantastic film. Its my all time favorite.I like the films directed by Mr. Yash Chopra and among them its the best one. Since the year it released i.e. 1997 no other film has been like this to me till now. My extreme liking for DTPH is because of following reasons.. ->Its tag line i.e someone somewhere...is made for you. ->Its story line and Yash Chopra's perfection as a director. ->Its superb music by Uttam Singh and Lata Mangeshkar's melodious duets with Udit Narayan.I love its songs; and Lata's voice seems to be fresher(even more than old songs of her) ->Uttam singh's background instruments rock whenever i listen to the numbers. ->Shahrukh Khan's first performance in which he did not stammer and did not deliver dialogs in the way like he earlier used to.He was very serious and his acting was quite, calm and mature. For the same reason he got several awards for this film. ->Madhuri's performance was great and so was of Karisma. Both got awards and Karisma also got a well deserved Rashtriya Puraskar(National Award). ->I love its screenplay specially in the scenes having an acting stage within the film.(See its climax to confirm what i said.) MUST SEE IT AFTER READING MY COMMENTS IF YOU ARE NOT AGREE WITH ME.
