Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” will take the No. 1 spot at the box office for a third weekend, earning $32.5 million and fending off Lionsgate’s “Ballerina,” which is underperforming with a $25 million start.
“Lilo & Stitch” is continuing its push to leg out to the $1 billion mark, currently standing at $335.8 million domestic and $772 million worldwide. Its legs will be challenged next weekend by the arrival of another remake: Universal/DreamWorks’ “How to Train Your Dragon.”
“Ballerina,” a “John Wick” spinoff starring Ana De Armas, is opening below projections of a $30 million start, with its $25 million opening roughly a third of the $73.8 million opening of “John Wick: Chapter 4” in 2023.
While Lionsgate says they are in line to turn a profit on the film thanks to foreign presales that allowed it to recoup a substantial portion of the film’s $80-90 million budget, “Ballerina” risks being squeezed out by the summer competition despite positive audience reception,...

Michael Cera finally stepping into Wes Anderson’s pastel kingdom is apparently the cinematic moment Benedict Cumberbatch didn’t know he needed. The Sherlock star got real about just how right it feels to see Cera’s offbeat awkwardness meshed with Anderson’s perfectly symmetrical madness in The Phoenician Scheme.
According to Cumberbatch, it’s not just a good fit, but a divine-level casting. Cera steps in like he owns the frame, effortlessly bestowing that offbeat, hyper-stylized energy Anderson thrives on.

Benedict Cumberbatch didn’t hold back. Dropping divine praise on Michael Cera’s unexpected Wes Anderson debut, he alluded (via Variety),
Watching him discover Michael is like God discovering water. It seems like a really natural, obvious element to have in his arsenal as a filmmaker. It was really a perfect partnership.

Prime Video's God of War is part of the company's plan to transform countless beloved video games into live-action TV shows. Following the success of Fallout last year, Prime Video announced several new adaptations were in the works, including the aforementioned God of War. The video game franchise, created by Santa Monica Studio, began in 2005 with God of War which received two sequels, but gained a second life when the fourth entry (also titled God of War) was released in 2018 and received its own sequel, God of War: Ragnarök. It is that version of Kratos that showrunner Ronald D. Moore will likely bring to the screen in the series. However, he recently made a shocking confession that is sure to anger fans of the video game.
During an appearance on The Sackhoff Show, Moore admitted that he isn't a gamer and hasn't played much of the God of War franchise.

The Boys star Jack Quaid is going to extremes to promote his new movie. The actor gets battered and bruised while sitting courtside at a Los Angeles Clippers game in a brilliant marketing stunt for Novocaine.
In the short clip shared by Pop Crave on X, Quaid can be seen watching the Los Angeles Clippers take on the Sacremento Kings alongside his Novocaine co-star Amber Midthunder. The actor, who is wearing a cast on his arm, seemingly gets more injured throughout the night. ‘Friends’ Actor Recalls Racist Incident While Filming Sitcom: “Nobody Felt the Need to Correct This”
Friends actor Stephen Park is looking back at a racist incident he experienced while filming the hit sitcom in the 1990s.
The actor, who appeared in two episodes of the show — “The One With the Chicken Pox” in season two and “The One With the Ultimate Fighting Champion” in season three — recalled working on Friends during a recent episode of the Pod Meets World podcast.
“It was at the time, I felt it was kind of a toxic environment,” Park said about Friends. “James Hong [known for roles in Everything Everywhere All at Once and Kung Fu Panda, among hundreds of other projects] was the actor who was also on the episode with me, and [the Ad] was calling him to the set and you know, essentially saying, you know, ‘Where the fuck is the Oriental guy? We’re anxious to see how this one has turned out – and thankfully, we don’t have much longer to wait. A24 will be giving Death of a Unicorn a theatrical release on March 28th. With one month to go until that date arrives, a new trailer for the film has dropped online and can be seen in the embed above.

Six years after directing his last feature, Dustin Guy Defa returns with The Adults, a film of complicated shared histories and gradually revealing inner lives. With his relatively sprawling Person to Person, Defa followed a wide array of characters over five interweaving storylines. This time he focuses on one family and, closer still, on an unmistakable feeling: that of moving out and growing up, only to return home and realize all that delicately assembled adulthood was merely a façade. Playing out across a leafy town in upstate New York, The Adults follows a trio of siblings as they reunite: the brother who went away and the sisters who did not.
This is new territory for Defa. Warmth was in short supply in his debut, Bad Fever. It was absent altogether in his script for The Mountain. Shot on fuzzy 16mm, Person to Person allowed him to show a more benevolent side to his cinema.

Morelia, Mexico — Mexican helmer-scribe Marcelo Tobar is teaming up for the third time with producer Elsa Reyes of Zensky Cine to make his most ambitious film to date. Contrary to his earlier features, which cost roughly $150,000 each to make, Tobar’s latest film, “Los Idealistas,” boasts a $1 million budget.
Zensky Cine produced and distributed Tobar’s 2017 hit “Polar Bear,” the first Mexican movie to be shot entirely on an iPhone and winner of last year’s Best Mexican Feature at Morelia, and his earlier 2014 film, “Asteroid.”
“It was a challenge to raise the financing for “Los Idealistas” but after several attempts, we were finally able to tap Mexico’s film incentives,” said Reyes, who added that Cinepolis Distribution has shown interest in releasing the film.

A little after 10pm on Wednesday, Killing Joke frontman Jaz Coleman was stomping around the stage of New York’s Irving Plaza, bellowing out the band’s brutish 2003 industrial-metal anthem “Loose Cannon,” which as he told the crowd beforehand, was inspired by a period when excessive drinking sent him off the rails. “I’m an urban animal!” the 58-year-old shouted. “One step from a cannibal.”
