We have some sad news to share today, as the official Wings Hauser page on social media has revealed that the prolific character actor passed away over the weekend at the age of 77. As the post reads, “Movie icon Wings Hauser took flight in the arms of his film & music partner, Cali Lili Hauser at their studio this weekend.“

Known for having one of the coolest names in cinema history, Wings Hauser was actually born Gerald Dwight Hauser on December 12, 1947. “Wings” was part of a stage name (Wings Livinryte) he used for a 1975 folk music album called Your Love Keeps Me Off the Streets, and he was credited as Wings Livinryte when he appeared on an episode of the TV series Cannon that same year. After that, he moved on to calling himself Wings Hauser.

Hauser made his screen debut with an uncredited appearance in the 1967 film First to Fight.

Some sad news has come in to end the week, as it has been announced that legendary NFL player-turned-actor Jim Brown has passed at the age of 87. His passing was announced by his wife on Instagram, with no cause of death being provided.

Born on February 17, 1936, in St. Simons Islang, Georgia, Brown is considered to be one of the greatest football players of all time. He was drafted out of Syracuse University by the Cleveland Browns in 1957, and spent all nine years of his NFL career with the team. Deadline notes that “his bruising running style redefined the running back position”. He was the first NFL player to make over 100 career rushing touchdowns and set single season and career rushing records. He was a three time Mvp, Rookie of the Year, eight time All-Pro, and eight time rushing leader. With him on the team, the Browns won the NFL championship...

In a statement to TMZ, Brown’s wife, Monique Brown, said, “It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my husband, Jim Brown. He passed away peacefully last night at our LA home. To the world he was an activist, actor and football star. To our family, he was a loving and wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Our hearts are broken.”

Jim Brown, the incomparable Cleveland Browns fullback who quit the NFL at the peak of his prowess to become a Hollywood action hero in such films as The Dirty Dozen, Ice Station Zebra and 100 Rifles, has died. He was 87.

A staunch advocate for civil rights, Brown died in his Los Angeles home Thursday night with wife Monique by his side, his family’s spokesperson told the Associated Press.

Call of Duty: Warzone‘s Season 3 update couldn’t have come at a better time. As the Overwatch 2 beta starts to gain steam, Fortnite‘s new “no-build mode” begins to take on a life of its own, and Apex Legends remains strong, many Warzone players were starting to look elsewhere for their multiplayer fix. This latest patch should be reason enough for lapsed Warzone players to return to the game, which means that it’s yet again time to take a look at the battle royale’s best guns and loadouts.

While some recent Warzone updates have failed to substantially alter the game’s competitive meta, this latest patch features a series of sweeping changes that should force players to finally start trying some new guns.

While the Call of Duty franchise is relatively new to the world of crossovers (at least compared to other modern series), battle royale spin-off Warzone is quickly making up for that lost time. In fact, Call of Duty: Warzone‘s next major event features two of the biggest names the game could possibly feature: Godzilla and King Kong.

Recently, the official Call of Duty YouTube channel revealed that Warzone will host a crossover event with Godzilla and King Kong. The in-game celebration, dubbed “Operation Monarch,” will tie into the Godzilla vs. Kong movie. Granted, it’s been a year since that film was released, but better late than never. Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, is heading to a different (and much blockier environment) for the live-action Minecraft movie.

Call of Duty: Warzone‘s surprising (but much-needed) Season 2 Reloaded update includes quite a few weapon additions, buffs, and nerfs that once again have players scrambling to find the absolute best guns in the game.

Just as it has been with the last few major Warzone updates, the Season 2 Reloaded patch isn’t highlighted by a gun that is so overpowered that you pretty much have to use it. Instead, Warzone‘s arsenal currently features several weapons that are not only equally viable but are clearly designed to appeal to a variety of playstyles.

Still, it’s quickly becoming clear that there is an elite collection of weapons in Warzone that are poised to dominate the game’s ever-changing meta.

Call of Duty: Warzone‘s Pacific Season 2 update isn’t just one of the biggest updates in the history of the free-to-play battle royale; it’s an update that is guaranteed to shake up the game’s competitive meta and almost certainly change which guns you’re going to rely on.

Microsoft recently rocked the internet when the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, announced that the company will acquire Activision Blizzard for an estimated $68.7 billion. While this news might seem like a boon for Activision (given the recent lawsuits and protests it has faced) some gamers are concerned Microsoft will no longer release Activision Blizzard titles on non-Xbox platforms, and could even turn Call of Duty and Warzone into two of the company’s biggest future exclusives.

While the deal isn’t supposed to be completed until 2023 (according to an email leaked to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier), Microsoft more or less now owns the keys to the Activision Blizzard kingdom. Virtually every title developed or published by that company, from Guitar Hero to Starcraft, is essentially Xbox property.

Many players said goodbye to the only Call of Duty battle royale map they knew. Since early 2020, the popularity of Warzone has only grown and its player base continued to clamor for a new map. With the "Last Days of Verdansk" game mode counting down the days, players are starting to look fondly at the many memories they made and some of the hardships they encountered during their time in Verdansk.

The battle royale from Activision introduced the genre to its large player base with the soft launch of Call of Duty: Blackout, but they perfected it with Warzone. The map took inspiration from eastern European cities to build a dynamic warzone focused on elevation and distance with tall buildings and sprawling fields.

Warzone‘s long-awaited Pacific update is finally here, which means that it’s time to take a look at which of the updates new guns are dominating the battle royale’s new map and new meta.

While we’re used to seeing Warzone balance updates that change the game’s competitive dynamic, it’s not an exaggeration to say that the Pacific update essentially makes Warzone an entirely new game. There are a few weapons and strategies that remain as viable as ever, but the influx of new guns (as well as some major balance updates) means that you’re going to want to take some time to get the lay of the land before diving into Caldera.

The first wave of Call of Duty: Vanguard sales figures are starting to pour in, and they strongly suggest that this franchise will continue to dominate the next generation of gaming.

While we’re still waiting for Vanguard‘s full sales figures to become available, UK retailers are reporting that the game’s physical sales figures were strong enough to knock FIFA 22 out of the top spot (which is a nice little accomplishment on its own).

Now, it is true that Vanguard‘s initial physical sales are not as good as Black Ops Cold War‘s were (GamesIndustry.biz says that they’re down 64% year-over-year), but we’ve seen a steady decline in physical game sales across the board in recent years, and everything we’ve seen so far suggests that Vanguard‘s digital sales will likely close the gap.

The Diamatti is a pistol that can benefit from having the best loadout possible in Warzone. While pistols might be the last choice for players when it comes to their primary weapon, they can be incredibly useful during critical moments. It's common for the player to run out of ammo, and need to quickly switch to their pistol as a last attempt at survival. Alternatively, there are players who use pistols exclusively, due to the challenge that comes with trying to win with one. The Diamatti is known as one of the best weapons in season 6 due to its design and damage output. Players will need to unlock it first before they can build the best loadout.

The Diamatti is a 3-round burst pistol that has a fast rate of fire with a short delay between bursts. This is a secondary weapon that has been available in the game since its launch.

Released in 2019 by developer Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends recently entered its 10th season with the release of the new character Seer. While it may not be one of the best Fps games ever, there are still plenty of fans who've stuck around since day one, and many more who are returning to Apex once again for another taste of the first-person, squad-based, battle royale shooter.

While the recent Call of Duty: Vanguard showcase was supposed to focus on the upcoming game’s multiplayer modes (and perhaps help distract people from Activision Blizzard’s ongoing harassment lawsuit and the fallout of the accusations made in that lawsuit), it’s hardly a surprise that most Call of Duty fans are instead focused on the brief glimpse of Warzone‘s new Pacific map that we got during the Vanguard event.

We don’t know everything about this new map yet, but we do know that it is designed to resemble a Pacific island, will of course be tied into Vanguard‘s WW2 storyline in some way, and will not launch with Vanguard but rather be available sometime shortly thereafter. The Twitch streamer exodus continues. Just days after pro gamer and streamer DrLupo signed an exclusivity deal with YouTube Gaming, another big name on Twitch has followed suit: Timothy John Betar, better known as TimTheTatman, will stream exclusively on YouTube starting today.

“I know it’s going to be a change and there are people that don’t like change,” Betar told Business Insider after the move was announced. “[But] sometimes change ends up being a better thing.”

Betar explained that the deal would allow him to be more flexible with his streaming content, saying that joining YouTube would allow him to spend more time with his family. He will also launch a secondary YouTube channel for edited videos, while his main channel will host his live streams and VODs of those broadcasts.

Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment has decided to remove the “tap-strafing” technique from the popular battle royale, and the decision has only fuelled an already heated debate between console and PC players regarding the benefits of controllers vs. mouse/keyboard.

What is tap-strafing? Well, I recommend checking out a YouTube tutorial (such as this one) if you want a better idea of what the technique looks like and how to perform it, but it’s basically an advanced movement technique that allows (or allowed) Apex Legends players to change directions quickly in the air without losing forward momentum. It’s an incredibly complicated movement technique that allows Apex Legends players to pull off some truly impressive plays. It’s also only possible to execute via a mouse and keyboard set-up.

PlayStation owners will have their first chance to try Call of Duty: Vanguard during a public alpha test this weekend that’s open to PS5 and PS4 players. The alpha will focus on Champion Hill, a new multiplayer mode that’s described as “a mix of battle royale plus Gunfight with progression happening between each of the rounds.”

Champion Hill, which can be played as 2v2 or 3v3, sees teams compete in tournament-style deathmatch rounds on a map split up into five sections, including a Buy Station Area at the center where players can upgrade their loadouts, buy Perks, new weapons and equipment, and more. But you’ll need to take out your enemies to earn the cash to be these goodies. The goal of the mode is to deplete every other team’s life count to zero and becpome the last squad standing.

This is definitely an interesting experiment for Call of Duty.

Activision has announced Call of Duty: Vanguard, the next installment in the popular shooter series. The new game, which is developed by Sledgehammer Games, in conjunction with Raven Studios and Treyarch, will take the franchise back to the battles of World War II for the first time since 2017, introducing a new story campaign, multiplayer component, Zombies mode, and even a brand-new map for Warzone.

The announcement comes at a time of reckoning for Activision Blizzard, which is facing several lawsuits as well as disturbing allegations of sexist and toxic work environment. In the weeks since California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing filed a lawsuit against the company over its workplace culture, many current and former employees have shared their own stories of being harassed or mistreated at the publisher. While the full reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard is currently stealing all the attention, the biggest news for Warzone players everywhere at the moment is that the free-to-play battle royale title will finally get an anti-cheat system later this year.

“Warzone is set to make Call of Duty history with a brand-new main map launching later this year,” reads a blog post on the Call of Duty website. “With development led by Raven Software, Warzone will also feature a new PC anti-cheat system across the entire experience when it launches with the new map.”

Despite facing several lawsuits and serious allegations of a sexist, toxic work culture where women and marginalized workers have felt unsafe and/or mistreated, Activision Blizzard has gone ahead and announced the next Call of Duty game anyway. It’s called Call of Duty: Vanguard and it releases on Nov. 5.

The new installment, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, in conjunction with Treyarch and Raven Studios, will take the series back to the conflicts of World War II for the first time since 2017. It’ll feature an all-new single-player campaign that tackles an alternate history “what if” scenario where a special ops unit must foil the Nazi’s plan to find Adolf Hitler’s successor at the tail end of the war. The four main characters making up the squad trying to stop “Project Phoenix” are based on real-life soldiers who fought for the Allied Forces.

If the latest Call of Duty: Warzone patch felt a little underwhelming to you, it might be because Activision and the Call of Duty teams recently revealed that the free-to-play battle royale will soon host the official reveal of the next Call of Duty game: Vanguard.

Warzone previously played host to the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War which turned out to be a kind of elaborate in-game Easter egg hunt that ended with the debut of the first full Cold War trailer as well as a few new permanent additions to Warzone and Modern Warfare. It wasn’t nearly as elaborate as the best Fortnite events, but it was a fun distraction for an otherwise popular game that sometimes needs a shot in the arm.

Call of Duty: Warzone is in a strange spot at the start of the game’s Season 5 update. Between the lawsuits and accusations that recently rocked Activision Blizzard and many streamers suddenly deciding to “leave’ the game and play more Apex Legends, the battle royale needs a big win to comfortably maintain its position near the top of the genre.

That makes it that much stranger that the Season 5 update doesn’t even include notable balance updates for the game’s new and existing weapons. The Warzone team has said that balance patches are coming (and Warzone recently received a mid-season update that buffed and nerfed many of the game’s guns), but you’re forgiven if things feel a bit familiar at the moment.

Still, as is usually the case with new Warzone seasons, it seems that an elite few weapons are already climbing their way to the top of the meta.

We recently talked about how Final Fantasy 14 is managing to “steal” quite a few World of Warcraft players who have become increasingly frustrated with that game’s problems. Well, don’t look now, but it’s really starting to feel like Apex Legends is doing the same thing to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Much like Final Fantasy 14, Apex Legends‘ success isn’t surprising or sudden. The Warzone community was recently rocked by the release of a massive Season 4 Reloaded patch that nerfed, buffed, and altered nearly every major gun in the game. It’s an entirely new meta at the moment, and things are absolutely wild.

It’s going to be a little while before we really figure out which of Warzone‘s buffed, nerfed, and new guns are truly the best, but as is typically the case, it didn’t take long for a select few weapons to separate themselves from the pack.

In Call of Duty: Warzone, players can use the Riot Shield to protect themselves from incoming gunfire and engage in gunfights on their terms. The ability to choose when to take cover and when to open fire allows the use of weapons that gamers would otherwise not always be in the ideal situation to use.

While an argument could be made that there's no great place to land in Warzone, considering there are randomly generated gas zones that could always appear, some places are worse than others. E3 Week’s best tradition continues in 2021: Activision’s next Call of Duty game has been leaked ahead of an official announcement. The new game, whose development is being led by Sledgehammer Games, is called Call of Duty: Vanguard and will be set during World War II, marking the first time the franchise has been back to that era since 2017. FaZe Clan has added Call Of Duty streamer Kalei Renay to its illustrious roster; the 21-year-old will henceforth stream under the moniker FaZe Kalei.

While the legendary Hans Gruber sadly doesn’t make an appearance in Warzone (at least not quite yet), you can fulfill his exceptional thief ambitions by breaking into the Nakatomi Plaza vault and stealing the riches inside.
