Intro begins with a bad scene from the first part, the introduction is monotonous and too long. Bad acting, incredibly bad, throughout the film the physical behavior (movements, gestures) of most actors are simply not in sync with the situation happening around them (if it weren't so sad it would be funny). Special effects in general the visual impression is bad, and at the time when is shoot it could have been done immeasurably better. Surely this is not the movie that you draw from the past and he delight you!
Long time forgotten movie on my local Blockbuster. Heck, since the mid 90's this movie has been on the Horror shelf and sadly, as far as I know, nobody ever rented it.
I refused to rent it until I watched every single Horror movie on the shelf. Some were utter crap, some were decent. The time for "Backlash 2" came and boy, I regret for not renting it before!
I haven't seen the original "Oblivion" but this sequel is entertaining as hell and perfectly displays clichès from Western movies but in Full Moon's strange perspective. Yes, there's lot of futuristic action in the West. Some cheesy weapons but still impressive.
The acting is also weird but likable. A bunch of cowboys in the style of Metal Gear.
There's minimal Horror in this movie but still it should please a conventional Horror fan.
Musetta Vander (Queen Sindel from the second Mortal Kombat movie) is hilarious and very sexy! Extremely sexy I'd say. The story is entertaining and might keep you wondering "what the hell is going on?".
Give it a try if you are into Full Moon's campy sense of movie making.

If you know what to expect from these Western sci-fi films with a low budget, I'm sure you would enjoy 'Oblivion 2: Backlash' with its delightful array of characters even though it was rather short.
I did not watch the first film in this franchise before I had watched this sequel. However, the film gives a summary of the main events from the first film in the beginning. In fact, around eight minutes of the film, which is about an hour and a half long in total, are taken up by this part and the opening credits, which is a lot.
Overall, I enjoyed this film with its interesting characters and I do want to watch the first one now.

Oblivion 2: Backlash (1996) is a Full Moon Features movie that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline picks up where the last film left off in the same mid western town on another planet filled with aliens and outlaws. When a woman on the run from the law arrives on the planet she is followed closely by a bounty hunter who enlists the help of the sheriff to bring her in. The task will be more daunting than it sounds.
This movie is directed by Sam Irvin (Gods and Monsters) and stars Richard Joseph Paul (Vampirella), Jackie Swanson (Lethal Weapon), Andrew Divoff (Wishmaster), Meg Foster (They Live), Isaac Hayes (Escape from New York), George Takei (Star Trek) and Carel Struycken (The Addams Family).
They did a really good job bringing so many of the original cast back. Takei, Hayes and Struycken are really great side characters who are the glue that keep the film together. Miss Kitty's Bar is always fun, the attire is unique and well selected and the action scenes are entertaining. The dialogue is very comic book like and light hearted. The CGI is fairly mediocre and the claymation ending was just okay.
Overall this is a fun movie that's about equal to the first film. I would call this an above average picture that I would score a 6/10 and recommend seeing once.

Oblivion 2: Backlash has a promising start but after Sweeney arrives it loses its way. It just isn't as entertaining as the original. Sweeney (and later Jaggar) are simply not as much fun as Redeye and Lash.
Miss Kitty and Mattie are in this one a bit more but we get less of Gaunt and even less of Buteo and Doc Valentine. It's quite short too, and that makes it feel like it is just another episode and not a stand-alone movie.
