Chris Martin knew the sting of a divorce long before whatever’s going on with him at the moment.
Because it is all very confusing, we know!
In early 2024, Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson’s engagement became public knowledge. This followed years of secrecy.

Not even six months later, news broke that the pair had split after seven years together — only for a competing report to drop hours later insisting they were still together!
So, what is the truth here? Are they together or not? If not, is this a breakup or a divorce? Are we in the middle of an uncoupling sequel or just a miscommunication?
Let’s dive in.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Yellowstone” Season 5, Episode 12.
There’s something about the run to Season 5 Part 2 of “Yellowstone” that feels like a funeral march. The show is still humming along ratings-wise and creator Taylor Sheridan is more prolific than ever, but there’s a stink of death around his crown jewel. Perhaps it’s because the show lost its marquee actor, Kevin Costner, prior to the release of this season and thus quickly dispatched him on-screen in the premiere. Or maybe it’s just because it’s “Yellowstone,” a show that’s always been filled with drama and despair, and producers want to go out with a bloody bang.
Either way, there’s quite a bit of blood in the water already on “Yellowstone,” from the much-wanted demise of the evil Sarah Atwood (Dawn Oliveri) last week to the much sadder (and much more accidental) death of ranch...

Ridley Scott has been a consistent fixture in the movie industry since 1977, with several classic movies in his legendary filmography. Starting as a commercial director, Scott launched into Hollywood with some incredible early movies and quickly cemented himself as a stylistic auteur. From taut historical dramas such as The Last Duel to a new Alien franchise entry to his return to the world of Gladiator, Scott's recent movies show that he is still one of the best directors around and that he clearly has no plans of slowing down any time soon.
At the age of 86, there are few directors working as hard and as frequently as Ridley Scott, making four movies in the last five years. With 29 feature-length movies to his name so far, Scott has delivered movies that are regarded as some of the best of all time and helped launch popular franchises. Of course, there are also...

Franchises like Fallout are now considered classics, with many considering them to be their earliest memories of enjoying video games. James Gunn’s Superman has gotten fans anticipating what the new era of the DC Universe will bring for the fans after the disastrous Dceu. The Guardians of the Galaxy director has promised a Superman who is much closer to the comic version of the character, as opposed to the more realistic take that Zack Snyder took with his version of Superman.

After the experimental approach that the Dceu took with its cinematic universe, James Gunn’s Dcu is going to focus on bringing the heroes back to their roots. With how popular the characters of DC are, the franchise need not spend the time to lay the groundwork that the MCU had to do, allowing James Gunn to dive directly into an established world to create his connected universe of characters.

Netflix believes in the power of faith-based film… and in the power of Tyler Perry.
Netflix has extended its creative deal with mega-producer Tyler Perry, in which he’s meant to write, direct, and produce films and series for the streamer, to now include faith-based movies. Perry and Netflix as part of the deal will recruit one of the original hit makers in the current wave of faith-based movies, DeVon Franklin (“Miracles from Heaven”).
Together, Franklin and Perry will produce several faith-based films for Netflix as part of a new multiyear and multi-picture first-look film deal, Netflix announced on May 6.
The first project under the deal will be “R&b,” a modern-day retelling of the story of Ruth and Boaz, one of the Bible’s iconic love stories. Set in Tennessee, “R&b” tells the story of a young woman who escapes the Atlanta music scene to care for an...

Until recently, filmmaker Jon Erwin was the reigning box-office champ for faith-based films with “I Can Only Imagine” and “Jesus Revolution.” Shortly after “Sound of Freedom” opened to $14.2 million, he offered advice to Angel Studios on how it might capitalize that success.
By November, when the child-trafficking drama grossed $250 million worldwide, Erwin lost his bragging rights. He remembers joking with the producers, “It wasn’t supposed to work this much!”
Ego aside, he welcomed the success. As “Sound of Freedom” inspired box-office think pieces and conspiracy-theory controversy, Erwin and partner Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten were in talks with Amazon Studios. Today, their company The Wonder Project is producing a slate of faith-based series and films; Erwin said he’d “be lying” if he believed “Sound of Freedom” didn’t help him get a better deal.

Terrence Howard is terrific as a cinema owner who hires his ageing movie idol to help him battle corporate goons
‘There are a lot of things to dislike in this world. Nazis. Modern art. Vegans. But above all I despise vampires.” That’s Dolph Lundgren in a growl, wearing a ludicrous wig, and karate-kicking his way through a horde of undead. Lundgren plays ageing action star Claude Luc Hallyday, a veteran of trashy films with trashier titles (Moses v the Nazis!). It’s a supporting role but Lundgren is the main attraction in Orson Oblowitz’s misty-eyed, sentimental, sometimes silly love letter to cinema. The setting is a gorgeous movie palace where the owner has a thing for tough guy Hallyday, watching his 80s action flicks on repeat – funny pastiche clips shot here as little movies-in-a-movie.
To be fair, Terrence Howard is also pretty terrific as cinema proprietor George, whose...

The first time Cecil B. DeMille parted the waters of the Red Sea, to film the 1923 version of The Ten Commandments, he did it at Seal Beach, CA, just 30 miles down the Pacific coast from Santa Monica. Three decades later, when Paramount Pictures decided to remake the Old Testament tale in Technicolor and VistaVision, the same director returned to do it again, only this time on location on the Sinai Peninsula with thousands of extras provided by the Egyptian army — no matter that the country’s military was rather busy with urgent geopolitical matters at the time. Both versions were massive hits, with the remake serving as the capper to DeMille’s illustrious career.

Attack The Block 2 is being compared to classic sci-fi sequels Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Aliens by Attack The Block director Joe Cornish. Though Attack The Block didn't perform commercially when it was released in 2011, it received widespread critical acclaim. It garnered several accolades, not to mention that it launched the career of then-19-year-old actor John Boyega, who has since become an international star. Attack The Block is a unique movie that combines elements of horror, science fiction, and comedy as it follows a group of inner-city kids living on a council estate in South London who must defend themselves and their community from predatory alien invaders.
While speaking on The KingCast podcast recently, Cornish discussed his current and future projects, including an exciting update on Attack The Block 2 and what fans of the original cult classic film can expect from the upcoming sequel.

Chicago – The presence of Sir Ben Kingsley – yes, he was knighted in his native Britain – is the first thing that commands a room. The regal and precise actor, who was awarded an Best Actor Oscar for his definitive performance in “Gandhi,” is back portraying a native of India in his latest film, “Learning to Drive.”
The film is a transition story for the two main characters. Darwan (Kingsley) is a Indian Sikh who gained political asylum in America shortly before September 11th. He is a driving instructor, and encounters a new student in Wendy (Patricia Clarkson). The woman is going through a bitter divorce, and is using the potential of learning to drive to gain more freedom. The two disparate souls help each other in essential ways, and at the same time weather the storm of some extreme life changes.

By rights I should hate the English. Seriously, my background is almost entirely Scots and Irish. I grew up hearing about the troubles the English gave to the Scots and Irish, both in school and from my parents.
Yet I do not, I love the English. How can I hate a country that gave us not only Monty Python but also Benny Hill and the Carry On Films? How can I bear any ill will to a country that gave us writers of the caliber of Ramsey Campbell, Brian Aldiss, Michael Moorcock and J. G Ballard? How can anyone hate a country that not only prizes eccentric behavior but encourages it? Take Mr. Kim Newman for instance, a brilliant writer whose work appears regularly in Video WatchDog and Videoscope Mr. Newman dresses himself, has his hair and mustache styled and speaks in the manner of someone from the 19th Century!

People often talk about over-hyped and under-hyped films, and with good reason, but when a film strikes you as getting exactly the right amount of hype, it’s rare indeed. This is exactly where Exodus: Gods and Kings seems to fall. It’s a film that seems like it should have gotten more attention, especially considering the cast, and the fact that it was directed by Ridley Scott.
It turns out that the film, while actually quite good, delivers to precisely the level of interest the world seems to have dictated is its due.
A thematically unique spin on this, or any other, biblical telling, Exodus starts us off with Moses (Christian Bale) in the prime of his Egyptian Prince-ish-hood. He’s about to take care of some upstart tribe or other with his “brother” Ramses (Joel Edgerton), and a prophecy kicks off Ramses’ dislike of the man he has...

Simultaneously the dullest and the most insulting version of itself it could possibly be. If only it had managed to be campy, that’d be something… I’m “biast” (pro): have been a fan of Ridley Scott in the past…
I’m “biast” (con): …but not so much lately
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
I think I’ve finally figured out what Exodus: Gods and Kings is all about. I don’t mean how it’s a painfully boring, too-literal adaptation of a Biblical fantasy that’s been told plenty often before, and was not calling out to be told again. I mean how it’s possible that Ridley Scott could have made such a stodgy flick, and one that’s utterly tone-deaf to modern sensibilities. Cuz Scott used to be ahead of the curve, not decades behind it: This is the guy who...

Anytime you’re watching Sons of Anarchy — especially this final, gruesome season — you’ve got to prepare yourself for a few casualties. It’s just par for the course with the FX drama, which has racked up an impressive body count in the past six episodes alone.
But there are some Sons characters you just hope will never be in the line of fire, and when they are, it’s all you can do to remember that this is a work of fiction.
This week, I’m of course talking about Bobby, who found himself caught in the crosshairs of an outraged August Marks.

It’s no secret that Biblically-themed blockbusters seem to be on the rise, and “Exodus: Gods and Kings” just unveiled an action-and-tension-packed preview.
Director Ridley Scott did a masterful job of bringing this Old Testament narrative to life on the silver screen, and having stars like Russell Crowe and Christian Bale on his roster certainly didn’t hurt matters.
Other notable actors involved include Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley and John Turturro.
“Exodus: Gods and Kings” will hit theaters on December 12th and tell the story of Moses’ efforts to lead the Israelite slaves out of Egypt.

Finally, the first trailer for Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings" is here, and boy oh boy, it promises to be epic! Like Cecil B. DeMille epic! Like a gargantuan "Gladiator!"
Take a look at the Red Sea parting! Listen to the cover of Simple Minds' "Belfast Child!" It's all glorious!
The film brings back to mind Darren Aronofsky's "Noah," but then again, did anyone see the movie? Hopefully, "Exodus" will not suffer the same fate so have faith all ye heathen!
In this adaptation, Christian Bale stars as Moses who dukes it out with Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton barely recognizable) so he can free the slaves and escape Egypt's plagues. So "Ten Commandments" here we come! But, according to Bale, there will be shocking stuff so Scott and company may be a bit liberal in adding or subtracting passages from the bible. Yup, just like "Noah.

2014 is the year of the Bible. After March’s Flood tale Noah saw a drenched Russell Crowe and Emma Watson fight for survival, another story from the Old Testament is parting the Red Sea and heading to theatres in December.
Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings sees Christian Bale as Moses squaring off against his adopted brother Ramses played by an unrecognizable Joel Edgerton. The 3D film covers the familiar story of the brothers-turned-enemies as Moses rises up against the Pharaoh Ramses in his quest to set 600,000 slaves free while the deadly plagues rain down on Egypt.
Edgerton gives his best Yul Brenner impression while a bearded Bale shows he’s adept at riding a horse and wielding a sword in the heat of battle. The trailer certainly gives new meaning to the term “epic” and is exactly what we have come to expect from the director of Gladiator and Prometheus.

We have the first Exodus: Gods and Kings trailer from director Ridley Scott below, and it’s pretty great to look at. I hated Gladiator and didn’t see Kingdom of Heaven, so Scott’s great movies for me include American Gangster, Matchstick Men, Hannibal and Black Rain. I don’t think any of those films come close to the scale we have here. Watch the trailer and see for yourself.

Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings is one of the many bible epics that's set to hit the big screen in the near future. 20th Century Fox finally released the first trailer for the December-release, featuring Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as Ramses. Check it out below.
The story of Moses has been adapted before – most brilliantly by Cecil B. DeMille in 1956's The Ten Commandments, which I watched religiously as a kid (call me crazy) – and some of you might be dismissing this film because of its bible roots. But this is a Ridley Scott production and here's what can be said about this short teaser: if anything, it'll be visually stunning. For some reason, the trailer only focuses on Moses relationship with Ramses (them growing up like brothers), and holds back from what came later – Moses taking the people of Israel out of Egypt's bondage.

When we think of historical epics, a certain grand scale of filmmaking comes to mind, and few pull it off better than Ridley Scott. His Moses saga Exodus: Gods and Kings (previously known simply as Exodus) hits theaters this December, and is the second blockbuster Biblical retelling of 2014, after Darren Aronofsky’s Noah.
Scott’s take on the Old Testament story boasts a terrific cast, with Christian Bale as Moses, Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby) as his adoptive brother (and eventual enemy) Ramses, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) as Joshua, alongside Sigourney Weaver (Avatar), Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3) and John Turturro (Transformers: Dark of the Moon).
While Scott has long held that his take on the famous story will focus more on the characters than the set pieces – such as the iconic Parting of the Red Sea in Cecil B. DeMille’s 1956 classic The Ten ...

Having tackled the future with Prometheus and the present via The Counsellor, Ridley Scott is doing an inverse Scrooge for his next film and dipping into the past. The biblical past, in fact, with Moses tale Exodus: Gods And Kings. Scott's latest charts the relationship between Moses (Christian Bale) and Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), one that is quickly sent packing with demands, plagues, suffering and a very long walk. Yes, it’s the old story of Moses demanding that pharaoh sets his people free so he can lead them to the Promised Land. Pharaoh, of course, has no intention of releasing his largely slave workforce, and the stage is set for an epic showdown.Scott has opted for old-school scale on this one, constructing massive sets for his Egyptian story, which pumps up the story to match the ambition of the designs, with it all on display in this initial promo.

The first trailer for Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings has been released. The film tells the epic biblical story of Moses, who led the Israelites out of Egypt into the Sinai desert and to their Promised Land. Moses is played by Christian Bale in the film, which also stars Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul, John Turturro, Sigourney Weaver, and of course, Ben Kingsley.
I wasn't sure what I would think about this movie, but judging from this first trailer it looks really good. As you'll see, it's got everything that we love about the films that Scott makes. I especially love the visuals.
The film is set to be released on December 12th.

For what seems like months now, the roster of 2015 Oscar contenders has been set. We’ve got Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken, David Fincher’s Gone Girl, David Ayer’s Fury and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman all touching down in the last three months of the year, and any of them could be heavyweights on the awards circuit. But one high-profile blockbuster has been so surprisingly quiet in the past few months that we seem to have counted it out of the race altogether – I’m talking about Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings.
Tonight, we’ve been treated to the first trailer for the Biblical epic, which is sure to get people buzzing about whether it could stand a chance of racking up some nominations against the aforementioned line-up of seemingly strong fall hopefuls.

20th Century Fox has released the first Exodus: Gods and Kings trailer for director Ridley Scott’s upcoming Biblical epic. The film stars Christian Bale as Moses, focusing on the figure’s struggle to free his enslaved people from their ancient Egyptian rulers as Joel Edgerton fills the role of Ramses. The trailer is, well, curious. The eyeliner is very heavy, and it almost feels like there was no effort whatsoever put into making Bale and Edgerton look like they fit into the time period (or, you know, anything resembling Egyptians). That said, the visuals are striking and Scott certainly appears to be going all-out with the whole "Biblical epic" moniker. I have a feeling this movie might be pretty weird. If Ridley Scott’s upcoming Biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings is meant to be a serious, dramatic venture, why can’t I stop sniggering at the new set of posters for it that just hit the web? Maybe it has something to do with the PhotoShop job done on stars Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton, surely one of the shoddiest since that god-awful Magic in the Moonlight poster with Colin Firth’s weird wandering eye.
That unfortunate shortcoming aside, fans of Biblical epics have reason to be excited for Exodus: Gods and Kings, which is sure to be the most crowd-pleasing in the genre this year (sorry, Noah). Bale stars as Moses, while Edgerton is donning some serious guy-liner to take on the part of Rhamses.
A new trailer is set to arrive later today, so we’ll have a better idea of what to expect from Exodus: Gods and Kings soon enough.
