This is one of the little movies that more people ought to see. It is a well shot, no budget flick filmed on Cape Cod about two lovable shmoes who only want to continue mowing lawns, but their equipment is quite antiquated. They need money for a new lawn mower and this mysterious woman appears and tells them about lost treasure. It is a wonderful take on the traditional Cape Cod ghost story, filled with sweet characters and inventive camera shots.

I found this movie while channel surfing very late one night. Two guys and an old lawnmower...but wait! Cape Cod... This movie is about two young men trying to make a living mowing lawns. They live in a garage...thankfully its the summer. They meet a quirky young woman and there are rumors of a ghost story and a treasure and a love story to boot. Again, I came across this website while web surfing and it was the first movie I searched for. Like the other guy wrote, don't tell your friends what its about just let them watch it. Its wonderful! Don't miss this one! I want desperately to add it to my DVD collection. I'm going to search for it now.....enjoy!!
"Joe and Joe" is a well written film that is different from the average big budget Hollywood film. It's difficult for me to give it an exact genre, but it's a mix of comedy, mystery, and even romance. I also like to look at it as a buddy film. One thing I love is how it uses it's soundtrack during many of its scenes. The composed music feels just right for it and fits the mood of the film just right. The two main characters, Joe and Joe, are the kind of people that you love to root for in a movie. You want to see them fulfill their dreams so badly. The humor is also very smart. Both Joe's deliver humor perfectly when put together. The mystery and romance pieces placed throughout the film also make it come off as a comedy with very mature (as in serious) pieces in it. Anyways, I say see this if you want a good family film. It is sort of slow, but if you can appreciate a movie that doesn't rely on dirty humor or stereotypical characters, this is the movie for you. The two characters are believable and so are their supporting cast.
this is such a great movie and it's horrible that no one would buy it and put it in theaters. David Wall (the director/writer/producer) is my cousin by marriage and I'm related to most of the people in the film. the paper boy that falls all the time is my brother, the dark haired Joe is my cousin, the old man in the window is another cousin, and the older lady is his wife therefore related by marriage.i wanted to be in the movie, but being 8, there was no role for me. that summer i was so mad that my brother got to be in it and i didn't. i thought it was great that my cousin was making a movie near where i was. i was on the set a lot of the time during filming. although i am biased, being related to most of the cast/crew, i still thought it was a great movie. if i didn't like it i wouldn't lie about it. i highly recommend this movie (if you can find it since its probably not in every blockbuster) but if you come across it definitely watch it.
We really enjoyed this movie. The music and setting were especially impressive. We wish it were available on video!
We weren't sure if we were going to continue watching this movie at first...but it grew on us. At the end, we were sad that it was over already!
If you heard a synopsis of the plot line, you might not be compelled to watch this movie but we thought it had a unique charm. A sweet, quirky but well-done little movie!
