Yeah there's murdering in it, but as a kid in the 90s, that kind of horror in movies was normal, people grow to be way too sensitive nowadays, I still think it was a great movie!
I guess it did have a couple violent parts, but for older kids, 12 or so it is probably okay. I watched it as an adult and liked it. Except for the inevitable murder (it is a murder mystery, after all), the other violent part was self defence. I thought it was suspenseful, which could scare younger children. (I remember being scared by the Wizard of Oz and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.) It didn't hurt that it was filmed in Utah, where I'm from. The reason I only rated it a seven out of ten was that it was an independent film, maybe a little on the amateur side, and it is a kids' show, but it was pretty good. I'm gonna see if I can find it for sale someplace, maybe amazon or someplace.

trust me i am a kid, and i have 3 brothers and 3 sisters that watched the movie with me and we all loved it!!
I first saw this when I was 11 and even though I am now 18, this has remained my favorite. Why? Well, even though it is an independent film I thought the plot line was good and the kids didn't act as badly as one would expect. There were moments, for sure, but overall the acting was good. If you thought about certain scenes too deeply the effect was ruined, but that goes for any movie. This is for ages 12 and up and although they repeated a certain word more than 20 times during the movie, it wasn't as cheesy as kid movies today are. The added bonus was that there were no "adolecent romances," which would have ruined the charm.
This video is a great movie for kids probably ages 7 and up. The plot makes it scary for many children younger than that. Billy (Michael Galeota, now most famous for Disney Channel's "The Jersey") witnesses a neighbor commiting murder. Unable to make his mother believe him, Billy, his little brother, Kade (played by Michael Galeota's real life brother, Jimmy) and their friends set out to prove what really happened.
