Throughout most of the film my head was spinning trying to understand what all the flashbacks and flash forwards were about and some seemed to be just messing with my head but therein lies the novelty of Chapter Perfect. While watching we get drawn into the chaos and the deranged state of mind that some of the characters fall into while trying to understand the killer mystery around them.

This re-released version of the original 1997 Chapter Perfect is shorter (now 1hr 13 mins vs the original 1hr 40 mins) and is in glorious colours and captivating camera work. It could have been a tad longer and felt a little rushed but the film moves along pretty quickly and I like many modern films doesn't lay all the secrets out in exposition. In fact some things never seem explained which leaves even more mystery.

Overall this 1990s style film is well shot, wonderfully acted and not an indie film at all based on its high production quality. We need more 1990s re-releases.

CHAPTER PERFECT feels like you're in a daydream. It's captivating because of how it appeals to the subconscious. The look and feel helps convey this effectively, along with the brilliant music score.

Wilford Brimley's role as the Police Chief shows his talent. One can't help but completely believe he has been a police chief in this small town for a LONG TIME. He also conveys the "been there, done that" mentality - a man that will not be fooled!

Molly Mason as the wife captures the delicate balance of insanity and life! Her acting is amazing and only underlines the daydream feel of this film. I loved it!!
