I loved this TV show, even though it has just finished in the UK. The cliffhangers were great. Every episode you had to watch the next one to see how they got out of the situation. If you liked Sunset Beach then you would of loved this! It's done by Aaron Spelling. The acting wasn't Oscar winning but the bitchiness between the characters and the double crossing was just brilliant! Maybe one day it will be brought back. Who knows?
As other reviewers have stated, the show was cancelled and it was far too early to do so. They left us with a cliff hanger. The shows scenery was amazing, the actors and actresses were beautiful and handsome.
The accents were spot on. The drama was so nail biting! It's sad that this show was on WB channel. The channel back in the 90s was known more like comedy sitcoms. But WB did bring us Dawson's Creek and Felicity and Gilmore Girls. So I'm sure Aaron thought it would be a good move to bring it there. I just can't for the life of me understand why it was cancelled. Everyone who saw the show absolutely loved it. Very reminiscent of any drama made by Aaron spelling. Kind of like Dallas, dynasty, melrose. I absolutely loved Jamie Luner! Always have since just the 10 of us. Wish they would reboot this show. We need it.
Savannah was by far Aaron Spelling's greatest series. i couldn't relate to these Southern characters one bit, but loved every minute of it! Seriously why did they take this show off the air? Why did they leave us in the middle of nowhere and not finish out the season? More importantly why do they not have the two season they did complete available for purchase on DVD? Obviously people love it! If people did not love it then message bored like this would not exist. More over there are many more message boards out there! I saw one who was a guy in another country offering the season on DVD for 40 euros. Anyone know of anywhere to purchase them in the U.S.? I would love more then anything to get a hold of these. I have never even heard of them for sale anywhere though? Thanks! ~Caitlin~
This is a message to Aaron Spelling! Why decided to cancel Savannah? Is the best show that I've ever seen. Even better than Dynasty. Please, made more chapters of Savannah and Dynasty, because we need it! I think that it will have a great success, probably not in the USA but of course in Europe, South America and other countries that are a big market for this kind of products! I think that this startegy will be very good for you!
I watched this show whenever I was eleven years old and I have to agree with the other comments by saying that each episode always made you want to tune in to find out what would happen next. I have also noticed that there are some references to "Savannah" in other re-runs of WB shows during that time like "Sister, Sister" and "Unhappily Ever After."
I only got to see the first season, but I think that the second season sounded much better. The cable company at the time showed the WB only through WGN-Chicago, and they took it off right after a cliffhanger when Robyn Lively's character (Reese, I think) blacked out on her own wedding night and went into the wrong hotel room. Drama today is too serious, why can't we have more shows like this show? If you also liked this show then you might have liked "Pacific Palisades" as well, but they never last.
