Amitabh Bachchan's Makeup Artist Deepak Sawant turned producer with this movie and wanted Amitabh to introduce the movie; Amitabh insisted on acting in it. By then, the movie was canned. So the producer, along with the director, decided to put Amitabh in a song sequence. But, as the song had already been recorded in a female voice, the producer requested if Jaya Bachchan would perform as well. The Producer got this arranged in two days, and the song sequence became the banner of the film.
