    ha ha!

ha! ha! this "film" is a joke.

it purports to be a "real documentary" and does have actual shark experts, but they turn it into a "movie" with horrible acting, dialog, etc. and fictional scrapes with death. the best parts include: the shark experts fox and clarke being "surprised" by a great white with water being sprayed on them and fake screaming. also the lamest-shark-costume-ever being used for the fake great white/plastic cage attack. i was actually startled by the monstrosity but only because its bottom jaw stuck out at an impossible angle and the possible sight of diver fins coming out the back.

all in all an enjoyable experience watching venerated shark experts trying to act.

    originally presented in IMAX theaters

This short documentary on sharks doesn't feature any human attacks or evidence of same, except in anecdote. The worst things that happen are that the diver Rodney Fox nearly dies twice, because of a dropped flipper, and a shark getting tangled in his oxygen cord. Fox tests shark repellent on blue sharks, and later submerges in a glass tube to see if sight is what makes sharks attack, as opposed to scent or electrical fields emitted by living things. Interesting things to see are 2 Great White sharks nearly colliding as evidence of their poor close sight range, and the underwater kelp forests at Catalina Channel. There is a somewhat unnecessary sea-lion POV swim, slow-motion, and self-conscious camera-work and sound effects - distorted lenses, the filming camera being screen-cleaned, and underwater camera clicks.

    Please eat Rodney!

I'm not sure what they were thinking when making this movie but it is not what I would call a documentary. Rodney is such a bumbling idiot that I was really rooting for the sharks!!! If you are hoping to learn anything from this movie you can just forget about it ...it's all BS! If had paid actual money to view this I would have been really angry. Fortunately it was just something I just streamed from Netflix. Ten lines of text is not necessary to review a piece of junk that only lasts for 38 minutes! Actually that may be the best thing about the movie ....it's short! Seriously it's total garbage! I'm now going to search the internet to see if Rodney is still alive.
