Not something you'd pay to watch

This movie wasn't as bad as people say it was. I've never heard of "Street Fighters" so I didn't really care that it was parodying it. I guess it's the sort of movie you wouldn't pay more than $5.00 for, but it would make the perfect party movie. The humour isn't smart, but it isn't so stupid that you cringe. It's actually pretty funny. Andy Lau was adorable, Jacky Cheung was cute, and just the whole atmosphere of the film let you relieve yourself of any seriousness. I mean, you could just see that those in the movie were acting with such an inane silliness, and so you can't help losing yourself in the zaniness of the film. Totally not Oscar-worthy in any sense, but nice fluff to get your mind off work and just have fun! Andy and Jacky are great and the cast has a floating charm, so go watch it with friends.

Ekin Cheng does 80s heavy metal look...and is still sexy!

I got this because I'm an Ekin Cheng fan, but I got much much more.

This film, is Hilarious. When me and my friend watched it, we couldn't stop laughing, not for a few hours afterwards even. We even nearlly fell down in the street when we were reminding ourselves of the classic moments.

It's a classic, there's barely any way to describe it.

It's insane, it's silly and VERY funny. And Ekin Cheng as the evil yet cool school teacher... JUST GO AND WATCH THIS FILM!

One of the tight movies I have seen in my life

Future cops is a cool street fighter based movie which came before Jean-Claude Van Damme's American version of Street Fighter the movie. It is insane also because instead of General Bison's organization "Shadaloo", they called it "The General". Vega is with the good guys?!. Also, Sagat has hair. In the game, Sagat is bald. What's up with Colonel Guile's hair? It is black all over. Plus, Ryu does not have a headband (like in the American version). Well, at least they made Ryu the main character but not Ken. And also, they mixed the movie up with Goku, a DBZ character. The story should be about Street Fighter (in Chinese). This movie is also a laugh-out-loud movie mixed with action. Anyway, I will give it 9/10.

    Street Fighter Future Cops.

After viewing a number of flicka at the end of my birthday on the 9th, I looked for an easy-going flick the next day in order to continue on ICM's Hong Kong/ Taiwan/China viewing challenge. Finding interesting comments online linking this to the Street Fighter game,I got set to join the future cops.

    View on the film:

Unofficially borrowing/ ripping off the Street Fighter games characters, the 10-15 minutes of fight scenes in the flick are the lone moments writer/director Jing Wong & cinematographer Wai-Keung Lau give the movie some sparks, via the smoke machine going into overtime for a 80's Music Video look, and the sped-up speed of film giving the fighting moves a quickness similar to the game. Filled with a eye-catching big name cast, the script and the rest of Wong's directing sadly wastes them, as moments of interesting weirdness (Super Mario talking about AIDS!) are drowned out by an attempt to be a High School teen Comedy, which lands flat by the gags being neither physically raunchy, nor wittingly written, leading this to be a forgettable arrival from the future cops.

    Best Live action Street Fighter

This Hong Kong version of the game "Street Fighter II" was way better than the Van Damme film of 1994. The characters actually emulate their signature moves in this action-comedy. I couldn't help but root for the heroes while laughing my head off. The only actor to look exactly like his character was Aaron Kwok as Ryu. The little music video with Jacky Cheung (Guile) is hysterical. If you see this film, get ready for a cameo from Dragon Ball Z's Goku!!!! It is awesome and if you're an anime fan, you gotta see it!!!!

    • Trivia
Andy Hui's character, Kei-on is a combination of two characters from Japanese Comic, Doreamon, which are Suneo (where Andy Hui gets the weird hairstyle and wealthy background) and Giant (in the Cantonese version of Doreamon, Giant is called Kei-on and he is a big bully). Dicky Cheung's character is also a reference to Doraemon's main character Nobita (Cantonese version is called Dai-hung, always a bully victim of Giant and Suneo), and Charlie Yeung's character is obviously refers to Shizuka (Nobita's love interest in Doraemon). In fact, in the film there is also a reference to Doraemon comic. Once Hung discover the identity and ability of those three 'future cops' he exclaim that "it is just like Dai-hung (Nobita) has three Ding-dong (Doraemon's name in Cantonese) altogether!"
