A spin-off or re-vamping of the sitcom The Torkelsons (1991). Besides the change in setting, the cast also shrank. In "The Torkelsons", there were five children: Dorothy Jane, Steven Floyd, Chuckie Lee, Mary Sue, and Ruth Ann. When they migrated to "Almost Home", there were three: Dorothy Jane, Chuckie Lee, and Mary Sue. No explanation was given for the absence of Steven Floyd and Ruth Ann.

Under-Appreciated Charmer

This is one of the most charming, sincere shows ever. It is about the coming of age of a young girl. There is no sex or profane language. A truly original show.

I can't for the life of me figure why it didn't last!
