Gagman-A great example of a "creative" comedy film in the history of South Korean cinema.

There are not many cinema enthusiasts who are aware of the fact that talented South Korean director Lee Myung-Se started his film direction career with this film. Before this career as a director, he worked as an assistant producer on films made by Bae Chang Ho-an important director/producer in the history of South Korean cinema. In South Korea, Lee Myung-Se is known as the director of some psychological thrillers namely 'Nowhere to hide',' duelist' and 'M' which have been acclaimed at film festivals all over the world. As a comedy film, Gagman is an ordinary man's personal tribute to the art of cinema which continues to fascinate all kinds of people. Much of this film's message is conveyed through its protagonist Mun Do-Sok-a cinema crazy barber who is desperate to enter the world of cinema. For this purpose, he would not stop at anything as he has found enormous support in a failed stand up comedian called Lee Jong-Sae. This role has been convincingly portrayed by Bae Chang-ho who happens to be one of South Korean cinema's leading directors. As Gagman has been shot in order to reveal two seemingly new worlds-the dream world and the real world, one gets to have an honest view of cinema business as there is a film within film. Watching this film's harmless gags , it looks as if Lee Myung-Se has prepared the viewers to enter the crazy worlds of a failed actor Lee Jong-Sae and an equally harmless barber Mun Do-Sok. These roles are enthusiastically played by two great actor of South Korean cinema Sung-Kee Ahn and Chang- ho Bae
