The 24 franchise has become one of the most popular action franchises of all time, and a major chunk of this recognition and fame goes to none other than Kiefer Sutherland. This is because the actor immaculately embodied the lead role of Jack Bauer for more than a decade, giving such an epic performance that we fans aren’t willing to have anyone else in the role anymore.

Then again, reboots of such major sagas are only inevitable, and for one as successful and fan-beloved as this respective one, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea as it will make a lot of fans’ wishes come true. But while that’s that, I’m convinced no one could replace Sutherland and work in his place better than the actor himself, especially after his remark on his 24 journey.

Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone breaks bad in this action thriller from last year, which holds one of the rarest ratings on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, and is all set to crash onto free streaming this month. Released in November 2024, Armor sadly did not attain a rare 100% score, instead the thriller, which finds Stallone in charge of a crew of thieves attempting to break into an armored truck, landed a rock-bottom rating of 0%. Making it something of a cinematic anomaly, and thus surely worth a watch.

Directed by Justin Routt and written by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert, Armor stars Sylvester Stallone alongside Jason Patric, Dash Mihok, Josh Wiggins, Blake Shields, Erin Ownbey. Wilson spoke to Variety on the podcast Just for Variety, where he talked about his current projects. He's promoting his new film, Millers in Marriage, a drama written and directed by Edward Burns. However, Wilson is also pursuing a career in theatre. He's currently co-producing a musical based on the '80s film The Lost Boys, and in the past, he's been featured in plays like Oklahoma! and The Full Monty.

Patrick Wilson is getting ready to return to musical theater. Not only is he a producer of the new “Lost Boys,” but he’s actively pursuing landing a starring role on the stage.

Now, producers James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson have confirmed (via Deadline) that The Lost Boys: A New Musical is coming to Broadway, as it’s set for a spring 2026 debut at the Palace Theatre.

The producers have teamed up with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia writer/executive producer David Hornsby, Parade director Michael Arden, and the pop rock band The Rescues to make this stage musical happen, through a special arrangement with Warner Bros.

Deadline reports that the star, known for his performances in The Lost Boys and Narc, has been recruited for the upcoming fifth season of Law & Order: Organized Crime in a recurring role as the new detective, Tim McKenna. He’ll join the Christopher Meloni-led team just as the show is moving off of NBC to premiere solely on Peacock going forward. The production will feature a score by The Rescues, with Tony Award winner Michael Arden directing. The musical will be accompanied by a book by It's Always Sunny on Philadelphia writer-producer David Hornsby, as well as Chris Hoch. Broadway and film stars James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson serve as producers on the musical, and are providing a special, invitation-only showing of the production on March 14.

Exclusive: In a rare venture into TV series, Jason Patric has been tapped for a recurring role in the upcoming fifth season of Law & Order: Organized Crime.

He will play Detective Tim McKenna on the series, which follows the detectives of the Organized Crime Control Bureau as they take on New York City’s most vicious and violent criminal syndicates. Headlined by Christopher Meloni, Organized Crime is moving from NBC to Peacock for Season 5, which is slated to premiere on the streamer in 2025.

In addition to Meloni, Patric joins series regulars Danielle Mone Truitt, Ainsley Seiger, Rick Gonzalez and Dean Norris on Organized Crime, created by Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead and Ilene Chaiken and produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment.

Producers James Carpinello, Marcus Chait and Patrick Wilson announced the new musical will arrive on Broadway Spring 2026 at the legendary Palace Theatre (160 West 47th Street).

The new musical will feature direction by Tony Award winner Michael Arden, book by David Hornsby, and music and lyrics by The Rescues, with music supervision by Tony Award nominee Ethan Popp and choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant.

The cast will be announced at a later date.

Even with 2024's worst superhero movie under his belt, and the leading role in one of the best original sci-fi shows to-date, Adam Scott isn't ruling out a return to the superhero genre. Scott is set to return to our screens in the second season of Apple TV+'s phenomenal Severance, created by Dan Erikson and directed by Ben Stiller. A couple days after a portion of the pier featured in The Lost Boys collapsed into the ocean, a scene reminiscent of Chinatown played out along the coast a few hundred miles south.

The same massive winter swells that sundered the wharf in Santa Cruz pushed ashore a portion of a severed human leg in Palos Verdes. The limb was discovered on Christmas Day. On Thursday, a second leg was found along the local shoreline.

Ironically, the grisly remains washed up just a couple miles north of where Roman Polanski filmed Jack Nicholson’s Jake Gittes discovering that precious water is being dumped into the ocean in Chinatown. It’s also just block from the location of the building that stood in for the estate of water overlord Noah Cross, played by John Huston in the film.

The famous Santa Cruz Wharf partially collapses into the ocean, losing a piece of cinema history in the process.

Per Deadline, a portion of the Santa Cruz Wharf collapsed into the Pacific Ocean around noon on December 23. At least 150 feet of the nearly 3,000 foot pier was lost, with at least three people standing on the Wharf when it collapsed. Two of those involved had to be rescued from the waters below, though thankfully no major injuries were reported. It was noted that, prior to the collapse, the Wharf was being struck by near continuous waves reaching between 15 and 20 feet tall.

A portion of the iconic Santa Cruz Wharf collapsed into the Pacific Ocean just after noon today. The last 150 feet of the 2,745 foot long structure dropped into the Pacific, according to local officials. They said at least three people were on the wharf when it broke up, two of whom had to be rescued.

The wharf was being buffeted by a massive winter swell pushing 15-20 foot waves across Santa Cruz Point just one mile north.

Footage shown on local and national TV news showed a tattered segment of the pier floating on the swell with at least one person walking across the debris.

For the Christmas season, Netflix finally released Jaume Collet-Serra's next action thriller, Carry-On. Starring Taron Edgerton and Jason Bateman, Carry-On sees the Christmas season at Lax take a dark and threatening turn when an international criminal secretly takes a Tsa worker hostage. Since its release, the film has been consistently in Netflix's top ten and has been receiving great reviews from critics and fans alike. Audiences consider the film to be a solid hit for the streaming company, with some fans even noting the similarities the film has to other action-packed hits within the same genre. Others in Collet-Serra's filmography even have some similarities to Carry-On, such as his other Liam Neeson-led transportation-related films Non-Stop and The Commuter, both getting moderate to positive praise. The book was optioned for a film adaptation by Hollywood Pictures, a Disney subsidiary, the year prior, and several screenplay drafts were immediately written. Jeffrey Boam was said to have written an adaptation of "Meg," but Disney didn't like it. Indeed, none of those screenplays were deemed good enough to develop into an actual feature, and three years passed without any movement on the project. In 1999, the rights reverted to Alten.
