The 24 franchise has become one of the most popular action franchises of all time, and a major chunk of this recognition and fame goes to none other than Kiefer Sutherland. This is because the actor immaculately embodied the lead role of Jack Bauer for more than a decade, giving such an epic performance that we fans aren’t willing to have anyone else in the role anymore.

Then again, reboots of such major sagas are only inevitable, and for one as successful and fan-beloved as this respective one, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea as it will make a lot of fans’ wishes come true. But while that’s that, I’m convinced no one could replace Sutherland and work in his place better than the actor himself, especially after his remark on his 24 journey.

Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone breaks bad in this action thriller from last year, which holds one of the rarest ratings on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, and is all set to crash onto free streaming this month. Released in November 2024, Armor sadly did not attain a rare 100% score, instead the thriller, which finds Stallone in charge of a crew of thieves attempting to break into an armored truck, landed a rock-bottom rating of 0%. Making it something of a cinematic anomaly, and thus surely worth a watch.
Directed by Justin Routt and written by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert, Armor stars Sylvester Stallone alongside Jason Patric, Dash Mihok, Josh Wiggins, Blake Shields, Erin Ownbey. Armor is all set to land on free streaming platform Tubi from March 31, and you can check out the official synopsis below.

Patrick Wilson, the star of franchises like The Conjuring, Insidious and Aquaman, has commented on his potential return to the DC Studios franchise. Wilson played Orm Marius, a.k.a. Ocean Master, in the two Aquaman entries that were directed by James Wan as part of Zack Snyder's Dceu. Now that James Gunn has taken over the franchise and turned it into the Dcu, fans are curious about which previous characters – if any – might be allowed to return.
Wilson spoke to Variety on the podcast Just for Variety, where he talked about his current projects. He's promoting his new film, Millers in Marriage, a drama written and directed by Edward Burns. However, Wilson is also pursuing a career in theatre. He's currently co-producing a musical based on the '80s film The Lost Boys, and in the past, he's been featured in plays like Oklahoma! and The Full Monty.

Through iconic movies like Die Hard, Conan the Barbarian, and Rambo, stars like Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone practically defined the action genre for generations. Playing on the machismo of these stars, a non-stop slew of movies built up the ideal Hollywood action hero, men often known for their muscular forms and entertaining films. However, some of the best hero actors have played excellent villains too.
Action stars are often some of the most at-risk stars when it comes to typecasting, making it natural for many of them to try and spread to other roles and genres. For many, playing a bad guy has brought out the best in their skills as an actor, with some of their biggest fans praising those roles as their greatest work. While these stars are still best known for their franchise heroes, their villainous roles should be appreciated too.

For over a century of cinema, monsters like werewolves and vampires have given audiences a non-stop slew of classic films, from Dracula and The Lost Boys to recent hits like Nosferatu. With Blumhouse producing their own take on The Wolf Man, audiences have been given a unique adaptation of a beloved monster. However, it's far from the only werewolf movie out there, with audiences being spoiled for choice when it comes to the iconic legend.
Werewolves have been at the forefront of horror and dark fantasy alike since the 1980s but can be difficult to pull off on the big screen -- especially in live-action. When the monster is done well, it can be the most terrifying thing on screen, and some movies have captured the sheer horror of its transformation and violent nature. After experiencing 2025's Wolf Man, audiences should look to these classics for a good follow-up.

In the vast world of the entertainment industry, several actors have portrayed blood-thirsty, menacing beings called Vampires. Among them is Ian Somerhalder, whose role as Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries has made him a global superstar and a fan favorite. His impeccable portrayal of the brooding and reckless Salvatore brother has continued to amaze fans even today, making them revisit the world of Mystic Falls over and over again.

Given the great job he did in bringing Damon to life, one can’t help but wonder what other pop culture-famous Vampires he took inspiration from. While he did have a few inspirations, the actor, however, refused to see Robert Pattinson’s Twilight movies.

Even with 2024's worst superhero movie under his belt, and the leading role in one of the best original sci-fi shows to-date, Adam Scott isn't ruling out a return to the superhero genre. Scott is set to return to our screens in the second season of Apple TV+'s phenomenal Severance, created by Dan Erikson and directed by Ben Stiller. Season 2 is set to premiere on the streamer on January 17, and the show should put the actor back in the good books after his supporting role in 2024's Madame Web, as a younger Uncle Ben Parker (before he became an uncle).
During an interview with ComicBook to promote the second season of Severance, Adam Scott addressed whether there could be a potential return to the world of comic book movies. "I don’t know. Never say never," the actor teased.

After the Venom movies and Morbius, it's easy to understand why most fans didn't have high hopes for Madame Web. So, it wasn't a huge surprise when the film debuted with 12% on Rotten Tomatoes and earned only $100.3 million at the worldwide box office by the time its run ended.
Despite boasting an impressive cast and a director with superhero experience in Sj Clarkson, little to nothing about Madame Web worked. Now, it's destined to be remembered as one of the worst superhero movies ever made.
The cast was a highlight, though, with Severance star Adam Scott proving himself a worthy choice to play Ben Parker, the future uncle of the Amazing Spider-Man.
The actor didn't have much to work with but delivered a much better performance than lead stars Dakota Johnson and Tahar Rahim. That meant he walked away from the movie largely unscathed (the same definitely couldn't be said...

Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu has redefined the iconic vampire story, but Buffy tackled comparable territory 25 years earlier with its subversive Dracula episode.

The high-paced adventure of Skeleton Crew took a different turn in its sixth episode, "Zero Friends Again." Kb and Wym dealt with a medical crisis that brought their mission to a literal standstill while Fern and Neel struggled to work together successfully. The vampire genre, like Nosferatu, has risen from the grave. The German Expressionist film originally directed by F.W. Murnau has found new life in the hands of Robert Eggers. The innovative director known for his magical debut in The Witch modernized a classic vampire story. Setting the classic story of Dracula in a German setting, a young woman must use her psychic connection to an ancient evil to save her loved ones. The generally faithful adaptation gives a few surprises that are standard for Egger’s gory and off-putting brand.

Since its publication in 1897, Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula, has captivated readers and audiences around the world, playing into multiple genres. Countless adaptations of the book have been produced, with as many films that cast Dracula in different roles, from unlikely antihero to comedic villain. As one of the definitive villains of both literature and film, the Transylvanian Count remains a popular icon, unlikely to fade any time soon.
The tale of Dracula has been interpreted and adapted by varying filmmakers for more than a century, each one bringing its own unique take on the character. While some of these films sought to faithfully adapt Stoker's novel, others defined themselves as something new. This has given all Dracula movies their own definitive touch on the mythology, particularly the latest take on an unofficial Dracula movie.

A couple days after a portion of the pier featured in The Lost Boys collapsed into the ocean, a scene reminiscent of Chinatown played out along the coast a few hundred miles south.
The same massive winter swells that sundered the wharf in Santa Cruz pushed ashore a portion of a severed human leg in Palos Verdes. The limb was discovered on Christmas Day. On Thursday, a second leg was found along the local shoreline.
Ironically, the grisly remains washed up just a couple miles north of where Roman Polanski filmed Jack Nicholson’s Jake Gittes discovering that precious water is being dumped into the ocean in Chinatown. It’s also just block from the location of the building that stood in for the estate of water overlord Noah Cross, played by John Huston in the film.

Vampyr. Upir. Dracula. Nosferatu. The ever-evolving vampire myth, which can be traced all the way back to A.D. 1047, has given many names to the dangerous, alluring entity at the center of these frightening folkloric tales. In every iteration, the vampire's natural state of existence was considered parasitic, which quickly became synonymous with the rise of untreated diseases that plagued the world at the time. The act of feasting on another, fangs bared, also had a sacrilegious overtone, wherein the sullying of the soul weighed heavier than the physical implications of being attacked. After Bram Stoker incorporated these myths about the undead into his 1897 gothic horror novel "Dracula," an enduring shift took place in the public consciousness, its relationship with vampire myths, and how they would be reinvented for years to come.

For the Christmas season, Netflix finally released Jaume Collet-Serra's next action thriller, Carry-On. Starring Taron Edgerton and Jason Bateman, Carry-On sees the Christmas season at Lax take a dark and threatening turn when an international criminal secretly takes a Tsa worker hostage. Since its release, the film has been consistently in Netflix's top ten and has been receiving great reviews from critics and fans alike. Audiences consider the film to be a solid hit for the streaming company, with some fans even noting the similarities the film has to other action-packed hits within the same genre. Others in Collet-Serra's filmography even have some similarities to Carry-On, such as his other Liam Neeson-led transportation-related films Non-Stop and The Commuter, both getting moderate to positive praise. But the film that probably most resembles Netflix's newest hit is an underrated Joel Schumacher classic from 2002, called Phone Booth.

It's been a long road, getting from there to here.
Jon Turteltaub's 2018 shark thriller "The Meg" was based on Steve Alten's novel "Meg" that was published way back in 1997. The book was optioned for a film adaptation by Hollywood Pictures, a Disney subsidiary, the year prior, and several screenplay drafts were immediately written. Jeffrey Boam was said to have written an adaptation of "Meg," but Disney didn't like it. Indeed, none of those screenplays were deemed good enough to develop into an actual feature, and three years passed without any movement on the project. In 1999, the rights reverted to Alten.
Then, in 2005, the book was optioned again, this time by New Line Cinema. The new version of "Meg" was going to be an impressive affair, with Shane Salerno as its screenwriter, and Jan de Bont as director. A 2008 report in the Los Angeles Times even noted that "Meg...

Then, in 2005, the book was optioned again, this time by New Line Cinema. The new version of "Meg" was going to be an impressive affair, with Shane Salerno as its screenwriter, and Jan de Bont as director. A 2008 report in the Los Angeles Times even noted that "Meg...

Exorcist and Omen-inspired religious fare weren’t uncommon in the horror genre in the 70s and 80s. Hell, they still aren’t. But not many of them were derived of scripts written before either film ever saw the light of day. Nor do they carry the sexual deviance and shower immediately after watching feeling of a Clive Barker’s Hellraiser. Today’s film just might. Perhaps that’s why it’s so rarely spoken of. Or why it is, to this very day, difficult to acquire or even view online. This is the story of what happened to The Unholy. (The 1988 version. Not to be confused with the 2021 Jeffrey Dean Morgan film which has no affiliation.)
The story of The Unholy begins with writer Philip Yordan. Yordan, born in 1914, had been writing for so long, he once housed blacklisted writers in his basement during the McCarthy era. The script sat...

Kiefer Sutherland has appeared in multiple acclaimed films and shows in the past few years. While his role as Jack Bauer in 24 is probably his most well-known, his appearances in Stand by Me, A Few Good Men, and the drama Designated Survivor have brought him a lot of recognition. His 1987 vampire comedy The Lost Boys became a cult hit.
Sutherland plays David, a vampire who acts as the gang leader of a local bike gang and befriends the protagonists. Sutherland’s character has gained a cult following, with David being regarded as one of the greatest villains in pop culture. While there were plenty of scenes for him to shine, one gory deleted scene would have made David a legend.

If there’s one horror genre that gets the blood pumping in this particular gore-hound; it’s vampires! Ever since the German silent classic, Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, bared its teeth way back in 1922, I’ve been obsessed with the genre. And no, you cheeky undead humanoid creatures, I’m not old enough to have caught that movie way back when. I can’t even remember where I first caught the sight of Max Schreck as Count Orlok, but it left a lasting impression. Ever since, I’ve gorged on human blood, figuratively speaking of course, with everything from The Lost Boys, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Let the Right One In, to more action oriented series like Blade and Underworld. Plus many, many more. The small screen has also had its fair share of awesome vampire action, with the countless TV re-imaginings of Dracula, the sex and claret...

From previous films by Radio Silence to similarly blood-soaked vampire comedies like The Lost Boys, there are plenty of great horror movies like Abigail for fans to check out. Helmed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known collectively as Radio Silence, Abigail puts a fresh comedic spin on the vampire mythology. It revolves around an elite group of crooks being sent to abduct the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful figure in the criminal underworld, only to find that shes actually a bloodthirsty, centuries-old vampire. Shes not trapped in a mansion with them; theyre trapped in a mansion with her.
Before turning their sights to the vampire genre, Radio Silence had put their own uniquely energetic and darkly comic stamp on horror cinema with Ready or Not and their Scream films. Abigail isnt the first movie to wring pitch-black humor out of vampires having fun; this was previously seen in From Dusk Till Dawn.
