    Overall a good film...

    I thought this was a good film with an interesting story behind it. I found Armand Assante to be completely believable as the distraught husband who just simply wants the life he had before his wife's amnesia. You can sympathize with all characters and see everyone's point of view. I don't think the title of the movie does this justice however.

    Unrealistic Feminist Fantasy--"Improve your Marriage through Head Trauma!"

    I stumbled across this on LIFETIME NETWORK, and after watching it realized, "thank goodness for movies like this to put men in their wretched places!" A real-life story, Lindsay Wagner comes out of a coma, can't remember her husband or her children (and gets all unhinged when her husband is actually upset that he's been forgotten...), leaves her kids with her husband, moves into an apartment and has a fling with a yacht-sailing lech who's obviously taking advantage of her predictament by whispering how "lucky" she is that she can "start life over" without kids or a hubby.

    Huh? Why don't they re-name this MEN ARE VOMIT--it would be more up to the movie's intent. Feminists should have a ball with this one--each and every male has serious flaws that only sweet, saintlike Lindsay can solve, from her husband to her would be lover to her son...while the women virtually wear halos. Totally useless film... and it is "based on real life"! If this is "reality", the woman Lindsay plays must be healing lepers by now.

    Nostalgic TV Movie with Douglas SHEEHAN

    One year ago, American actor Douglas SHEEHAN (1949-2024) died. He played journalist Ben Gibson, the second husband of Valene Ewing (Joan Van ARK), in the popular family series KNOTS LANDING from 1983 to 1987. Essentially, Doug SHEEHAN also played the stepfather of Lucy Ewing (Charlene TILTON) from DALLAS, although this was never addressed in either series.

    This television movie was broadcast by rival network NBC (KNOTS LANDING aired Thursdays on CBS) on January 12, 1987, when Doug SHEEHAN was still part of the cast in his fourth season of KNOTS.

    STRANGER IN MY BED is about a young woman (Lindsay WAGNER) who loses her memory as a result of an accident. She can't remember her very nice husband (Armand Assante), to whom she has been married for 15 years. She also has no memory of her two children. Everything in the family home feels strange to her. This, of course, causes some difficulties. Two-thirds of the way through the film, Doug Sheehan appears as a charming love interest named Roger, who sees her amnesia as a fascinating opportunity for a fresh start.

    How this story ended is probably anyone's guess. Director Larry Elikan made a typical 1980s TV movie, but the participation of Doug Sheehan gives it a nostalgic touch (at least for a passionate KNOTS fan).

    About three months after the TV movie's premiere, Doug Sheehan unfortunately made his final appearance as Ben Gibson in KNOTS LANDING. Unfortunately, the otherwise excellent screenwriters of KNOTS were unable to devise any good storylines for him and his difficult role in the love triangle between Val, Gary Ewing, and himself.

    In Memoriam Douglas SHEEHAN 1949 - 2024.

    NOT UNrealistic at All, I've had a Head Trauma, It changes Your Life, Even when you come out Gratefully Healthy after a year or so.

    ~~~~~~~ Your Priorities change BECAUSE You find Out What's Important in the Big Picture. It doesn't matter if this Movie Character's New Priorities Agree with Yours... It's ultimately "Individual Settings" and Mental Health, Emotional & Physical Health. ~~~~~~~~~~ It's fine to not like the movie, Individual choice, BUT TO SAY IT's UNREALISTIC is just not fair nor understanding of the trauma based story. AND LINDSAY DID A FINE JOB as USUAL !!!
