Terribly underrated - Get a copy now!!!!!! (If you can!!)

This film, along with Detective School Dropouts, are 2 very underrated movies. Lorin Dreyfuss is funny as!!!!!!!! Being a fellow dutchman, this film had me in histerics - but there is just one problem - how hard it is to obtain! Absolutely nowhere can I find information about a VHS video of Dutch Treat, or any info for that matter! Dutch Treat is a forgotton movie - Bring it back!

High spirited, but doesn't have enough laughs

I thought that the first movie to showcase Lorin Dreyfuss and David Landsberg - "Detective School Dropouts" - a production from Golan and Globus of Cannon Films, was a very funny comedy. So naturally I wanted to see the follow-up with the same actors, "Dutch Treat". However, for some unknown reason, it seems that Golan and Globus this time around didn't arrange for the movie to be released on home video in North America, so for years I wasn't able to track it down. But thanks to YouTube, I finally watched it today. In this follow-up, Dreyfuss and Landsberg continue to show they are a great team, showing a lot of chemistry and energy. Also, a lot of the energy in the movie is thanks to director Boaz Davidson. However, the script this time around is a disappointment. The narrative is clearly padded out considerably, and jumps around constantly. That probably wouldn't matter if the movie had been very funny, but unfortunately it isn't. Don't get me wrong, there ARE some big laughs here and there, but for the most part the humor is simple-minded, lame, and extremely predictable. While I am a big fan of Cannon Films, I have to admit that maybe it was for the best that this effort didn't get an official release on these shores. However, if you are a moviegoer who loves to play the game "How Many Times Can You Spot the Boom Mike?", you'll definitely find enough to make this worth a viewing.

A Dutch treat but only for the bands appearance.

Totally daft 80's music caper that's only the good side of inaneness by the girl group, the Netherlands' Dolly Dots. The 2 male leads help the plot along daftly, but it's only when the girls come into the action that the film rises above mediocre. Their songs are obviously mid eighties excellence.

Dutch girl band goes to make it in the USA

This is a movie about a Dutch girl band, who want to try their luck in the USA. They're called the Dolly Dots, had several hits in the Netherlands and our way popular. This is the plot, but the actresses are really singers and together they form the Dolly Dots in real life, that is. They actually really try to make it in the USA, and the movie (really thin plot, predictable jokes) is supposed to boost their overseas career. The movie wasn't even well received in Holland (where the Dolly Dots were popular). I'm sorry (I used to be a big fan) but the movie and the soundtrack s*ck.
