    a memorable experience

This movie has everything a person could want in entertainment-a combination of comedy and a touching love story, the background music of guy lombardo and kenny gardiner is just great, sutherland gives a good account as a shy oddball but what makes this film memorable is the fine performance of the deaf girl played by vanessa vaughan and who could forget her lovely smile,a fine canadian production!

    One of Sutherland's best roles

This movie is about a young man dealing with his overbearing father, manipulative younger brother, and overbearing stepmother all while trying to be his own person. He has a very unique personality, but is not retarded (someone made that comment in an earlier review). This movie is definitely worth seeing and will change your view on Kieffer Sutherland as an actor.

    Odd, but memorable

I haven't seen this movie in a few years, but I found it so memorable that I have been searching for it for some time, at least to rent, just so I can see it again.

This film is wildly different from what you'd expect from an "80's romantic comedy", and has a distinctly Canadian flavour. While Hollywood likes to believe that it can portray romance between atypical people, it really is the role of the indie or non-American film to do that justice, and, as a not-so-normal preteen (who, by the bye really loved swing during the age of New Kids) this movie really struck a chord with me. If you are tired of watching 27-year-old super models try to act like unaccepted young people, this movie is for you.

Brooke is odd and insists on being himself, but he is still lovable... That is a good message for anyone to see.

Why, oh why, is this not out on DVD??

    Definitely worth watching

This is a classic love story with a strange setting. Kiefer Sutherland plays a boy with some big social and affective problems, who falls in love with a deaf girl that is trying to find her place in the world. The way this is played out makes the story kind of hard to watch, but at the same time tremendously endearing.

Both actors do a great job, especially the girl, Vanessa Vaughan. I've read she's actually deaf, so I guess she had that as an advantage. Communication plays an important role in this movie, as both characters teach each other to beat their fears. And Vanessa's smile is nothing short of spectacular.

    Awesome movie.

I love this film. I saw it as a teenager on late night ITV years ago and was over joyed when i found it on DVD. I watched it and hoped it was as good as i remember it being when i saw it as a very tired teenager and i was not disappointed. A really sweet movie full of quirkiness, romance and music so eighties it hurts. Watch this movie and check out Kiefer Sutherland in one of his best rolls. He takes a lot of flack does Mr Sutherland from people who have only seen a select few of his movies and became slightly typecast during the 1990's until 24 relaunched his career at a time when the idea of Kiefer doing a role like that would have made most people chortle. I have to admit i do love Kiefer and have watched nearly all his films now, including t.v movies, some are not great (desert saints is pretty bad as is the break up)but some like After Alice, last days of Frankie the fly and crazy moon are exceptional. I framed my crazy moon poster yesterday that i got from ebay some years ago. Just looking at it made me want to get online and tell the world, now thats a sign of a good movie right?
