    Tec spoof

As Burt Bacharach might have written, what the world needs now is another detective spoof. But hey, this only claims to be entertainment. An odd couple of Californian private investigators get a bit desperate for cash; luckily, a small Hollywood film company (where do these writers get such varied inspiration?) hires them to track down the leading lady who's legged it mid-shoot. With $25,000 riding on it, the gumshoes are only too keen to find the woman, and the usual chaos ensues.

    Surprisingly enjoyable 80s caper

The film has a bit of bipolar to it as it jumps from moments of brooding atmopsheric thiller to more bubble-gumshoe hijinks and a road movie detective hunt, but for some reason it works well. The acting is solid. The pace and editing feels right. great array of locations and movement for a B movie. There is a great sybiotic crontrast to the main characters and it is engrossing enough tail of hollywoods underbelly to make you watch all the way through tot he end. If you like 80s movies, this should not be passed up.
