The most powerful thing about this movie is its plot. The events unfold during the Russian civil war, but this is just a dream of the main character, who lives in our time (the time of the late USSR). Events are moving slowly, but it cannot be said that the film is slowed down to the point of impossibility. It all looks interesting, although the quality of the copy posted online leaves much to be desired. The attempt to make a horror movie was definitely a success, although the horrors turned out to be rather mild, not frightening, but rather mystical, enveloping anxiety... For fans of action-packed movies, I would not recommend this film.
