After receiving a degree in chemical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney, Dolph Lundgren started his acting career with a James Bond film (A View to a Kill) in 1985, quickly followed by his iconic performance as Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV, and then a string of action films. With a career spanning five decades, the man has kept busy, playing over 100 parts… and now, we have taken on the task of picking some of his best movies. Here we go:
Don’T Kill It (2016)
Directed by Mike Mendez, Don’t Kill It combines action, horror, and comedy while dropping Lundgren into the role of badass demon hunter Jebediah Woodley, who seems more interested in finding his next drink than catching demons. His vocation has brought him to Chickory Creek, Mississippi, where Christmas is being ruined...

As much as we adore our short kings, the world absolutely loves a tall man. Sure, they’re probably sick of being asked, “How’s the weather up there?” but they always come in handy when you need something off the top shelf.
Table of Contents: Tall Hollywood Actors
Fortunately, there is no shortage of sky-scraping men in Hollywood. Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of the tallest actors in Hollywood. Click on a name to jump directly to their full profile and learn more about their careers and footwear stats.

I Come in Peace… You Go in Pieces!
So goes one of the coolest one-liners I have ever heard, and it’s part of one of the most unheralded Christmas action movies ever. Now, Christmas action movies have always been a thing. Something about the juxtaposition of the holidays and ultra-violent action has always been irresistible to Hollywood. In movies like First Blood and To Live and Die in LA, the holiday theme makes the desperately violent scenario all the more grim. At the same time, other classics like Lethal Weapon and Die Hard ultimately have Christmas messages about friendship and family that come through just as strongly as in a straight-up Christmas movie like It’s a Wonderful Life.
Yet, not every Christmas action flick becomes a classic, which brings me to this special Christmas edition of The Best Movie You Never Saw, where we tackle the Dolph Lundgren Actioner I Come In Peace,...

Very sad news today as it’s been reported that M. Emmet Walsh has died at the age of 88. No matter the size of the role, the prolific character actor always made a unique impression throughout his long career, which spanned six decades.
M. Emmet Walsh is best known for playing Bryant in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, the captain of the Los Angeles Police Department who tasks Deckard with tracking down the replicants at the beginning of the film. He told THR that the cast and crew weren’t quite sure what the make of the movie when they first saw it. “I don’t know if I really understood what in the hell it was all about,” Walsh said. “We all sat there and it ended. And nothing. We didn’t know what to say or to think or do! We didn’t know what in the hell we had done!

Masters of the Universe was one of three big-budget 1987 movies that sunk Cannon Pictures (the other two were Over the Top and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace). It was supposed to be their version of Star Wars, boasting a significant budget (for Cannon) and high production values. It was based on the toys and cartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe by Mattel, but the film had a very rocky road to the big screen. While it’s now considered a camp classic, thanks mainly to the involvement of Dolph Lundgren, at the time, many thought that his performance helped tank the movie. He almost ended up being dubbed in the final cut.
Indeed, in the documentary Toy Masters (excerpted by THR), Mattel executives found Lundgren’s accent unintelligible, and director Gary Goddard wanted him dubbed. “We actually did bring in a few actors to loop test,...

Marvel movies are big business, from the Avengers franchise and all of the interconnected heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on screens both big and small, to Fox's ever-expanding world of the X-Men and Deadpool, to the Sony steered Spider-man movies, going all the way back to Sam Raimi's original trilogy. But that doesn't mean every big name actor and A list talent in Hollywood wants to be associated with these characters. Some heavyweight actors have straight up said no way when Marvel came knocking. So, who would do such a thing?
Since becoming its own studio, which was later acquired by Disney in one of the biggest studio deals this side of Lucasfilm, Marvel has had no problem attracting top-tier A-list talent to its roster; the talent who commands major ticket grosses and critical acclaim alike. Who doesn't want to suit up as a one of Marvel's Merry Mutants,...

1984’s entry into the popular slasher franchise, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, is one of the better Friday the 13th installments. It supposedly has the most nudity out of all the installments, it is more action oriented and this iteration of Jason Voorhees is pretty damn ruthless. Not to mention, tons of broken glass and Crispin Glover’s dance moves.
Personally, I bounce back and forth between this entry and Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives as my favorite film of the franchise. After 5 years of doing Late Nite Grindhouse, we finally worked it out to show a Friday the 13th movie on Friday the 13th!!
Expertly directed by Joseph Zito (The Prowler, Red Scorpion), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter introduces a great group of kids that are relatable, likeable and humorous. Stuntman Ted White brings an unapologetic and vicious Jason Voorhees to the screen that, in my personal opinion,...

Ah, 1989. The year the Berlin Wall came down and Yugoslavia won the Eurovision Song Contest. It was also a big year for film, with Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade topping the box office and Batman dominating the summer with its inescapable marketing blitz.
Outside the top 10 highest-grossing list, which included Back To The Future II, Dead Poets Society and Honey I Shrunk The Kids, 1989 also included a plethora of less commonly-appreciated films. Some were big in their native countries but only received a limited release in the Us and UK. Others were poorly received but have since been reassessed as cult items.

How did an '80s Van Damme action flick emerge from a lost Spider-Man movie and Masters Of The Universe 2?
Cannon Films was in deep trouble by 1987. Its boom years, between the late '70s to the mid-80s, were largely thanks to an eclectic and hurriedly-made collection of B-movies: Chuck Norris action pictures, Charles Bronson revenge flicks, and lots of things with the word "ninja" in the title.
Thanks to its outsider status and anything-for-a-buck approach to filmmaking, Cannon Films became a major name in Hollywood, the grinning faces of its brusque founders - producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus - frequently appearing in TV news reports and tinseltown trade papers.
But in the mid-80s, Golan and Globus began to change their strategy. While they would still make Death Wish sequels and Chuck Norris pics, they began to dabble in making more expensive films, such...

The question is, what do other action heroes get up to when they're not shooting bad guys, blowing up trucks or rescuing their daughters from Val Verde? In most movies, we never find out. But in very,...

inXile, the developer behind the crowd-funded sequel, "Wasteland 2," certainly aren't shy about showing their work on the post-apocalyptic RPG. Back in February, the studio released approximately 20 minutes of gameplay footage from the first level of "Wasteland 2" and today, they're going a little deeper into the campaign with a look at the Prison.
The Prison is the 4th or 5th area in the game depending on how you approach it. Wasteland 2 is an open game so potentially, you could travel straight to it if you want a real challenge... but it probably won’t go so well.
That's from the inXile team who say that this level wasn't built for demoing and represents actual gameplay. The content here shows about a third of the area, according to team lead Chris Keenan. In the game's fiction, the Prison is now the home of the Red Scorpion Militia, a faction in the game...

Throw international martial arts badass Tony Jaa (“Ong Bak”) and low-budget 80s action icon Dolph Lundgren (“The Expendables,” “Red Scorpion”) into a movie together and you immediately have my attention. And that movie is “A Man Will Rise.” The other day, we had a few pictures from the set, but little to no actual information about the film, formerly titled “Local Hero.” Well now we’re back with even more photos, and whole bunch of news. And this isn’t just news, this is news that will pique your interest, especially if you enjoy watching people get pummeled about the head and face. First off, Tony Jaa is not only the star of “A Man Will Rise,” he’s also directing. This is his third venture behind the camera, as he helmed both “Ong Bak 2” and “Ong Bak 3.” He’s also bringing his old pal Panna Rittikrai (co-director of the two aforementioned films,...

A Groundhog Day-esque action drama, Repeaters is one of those films that will fly under the radar of many despite its impressive pedigree. Penned by Arne Olsen, who has one hell of a writing CV having worked on Red Scorpion, Cop and a Half and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie amongst many others, the film follows three troubled youths – Kyle, Sonia and Mike – at a drug-rehab center who, following an electric shock, end up repeating the same day over and over again. The trio quickly embrace their new gift, having all the fun they could ever want which includes committing crimes without any fear of reprisals. However once the fun starts to get a little too dangerous Kyle and Sonia decide they want to use their “gift” to help people,...

We’ve got 2 pairs of tickets to give a couple of lucky winners the chance to walk the red carpet with these action legends and see the film ahead of the rest at the premiere in Leicester Square.
The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal…
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. On the occasion of Synapse Films Blu-ray/DVD combo release of Red Scorpion I am reprinting my review of the film from my earlier comments on the Arrow Video edition. Following the film review will be detailed comments on this disc specifically. Enjoy!Dolph Lundgren rules. I can't say that I've seen a lot of his work, since the '90s most of it has gone straight to video, but the guy knows exactly who he is and where he fits, and that is a blessing. Joe Zito's Red Scorpion was Lundgren's third feature film in a prominent role and he certainly made the most of it. The story is a ludicrous, flag-waving, jingoistic mess, but the execution is actually pretty damned decent, and Lundgren's presence on screen...

A couple of disappointing sequels, Vincent Chase's final performance, and a handful of new Criterion discs basically sum up this week's crop of DVD and Blu-ray releases. The two major releases hitting stores shelves are Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, neither of which I am particularly eager to revisit. Looking beyond that, we also have the French plane hijack thriller The Assault, the DC animated title Superman vs. The Elite, and Vincent D'Onofrio's much maligned horror-musical Don't Go in the Woods. The only real notewothy TV release is the final season of HBO's Entourage, and new to Blu-ray we have Meatballs, Red Scorpion and Criterion re-releases of Hal Ashby's Harold and Maude,Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush and Danny Boyle's Shallow Grave. What will you be buying or renting this week? Check out the full list of new releases after the jump.

Behind every great action movie, there’s some sort of flimsy excuse for the shooting. Here’s our list of genre’s five most common plotlines…
In screenwriting classes, they call it the inciting incident. For filmgoers, it’s perhaps quietly filed in the back of their brain as ‘the reason why the hero buys a gun and starts killing lots of bad guys.’
It’s often said that, in all forms of art, we’re really just telling the same stories over and over again – and so it is with the action genre. As chaotic and senseless as such films often appear to be, even the trashiest and ineptly made have at least a flimsy excuse for all the explosions and shoot-outs.
To this end, here are the five basic action movie plots as we understand them. The actors who play the heroes and villains may change, the settings may vary,...

Warrior
The plot and characters of Warrior are so corny and shopworn that the film should really come with a health warning that it's way past its sell-by date.
The direction isn't much better: there's a C-plot involving students that should have you shouting for the editor's blood every time it appears, and even the required sports training montage is badly fumbled. So why is this being feted as one of 2011's best films when it should be counted among the worst? It's the acting. Across the board, the performances here are superb. With fast-rising stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton playing the punchy estranged siblings competing in a mixed martial arts tournament, you get two actors committed to delivering the physicality the roles demand as well as being more than capable at making the stale drama seem fresh. Best of all is Nick Nolte as their drunk disappointment of a dad.

With Red Scorpion out now on Blu-ray, we take a look at what this 80s action fest can teach us about guerrilla warfare…
Standing at six feet five inches tall, Dolph Lundgren was the strapping alpha male of 80s cinema. After landing a tiny role in the James Bond movie A View To A Kill in 1985, the latter half of the decade saw the chemical engineering graduate, ex-bodyguard and Karate champion at the height of his rippling powers.
Lundgren punched Apollo Creed to death in front of James Brown in Rocky IV in 1985, starred as He-Man in Masters Of The Universe in 1987, and two years after that, headed off to Namibia to shoot his toughest assignment yet: the action epic, Red Scorpion.
Apparently fated to play Russian characters – his brief appearance in the 007 flick was as a Kgb henchman – Lundgren plays Nikolai Rachenko, an elite Soviet soldier sent on a mission to Africa.

Back at the end of October, our friends at Arrow Video sent over a special preview of their upcoming 2012 DVD and Blu-ray releases, and now they’ve sent us more details on two of those titles – the Arrow Video Blu-ray release of Red Scorpion and the Arrowdrome DVD release of Penitentiary and Cat O’Nine Tails.

Dolph Lundgren is Nikolai – a killing machine – a deadly, highly skilled agent for the Russian army whose brutal efficiency and single minded determination to serve the motherland leaves behind a trail of battered bodies and bloodied enemies. Now Nikolai must infiltrate an African rebel army who seek to defy their new communist rulers and take out their leader, but as he gets to know his enemies and the dignified Bushmen he encounters, he begins to slowly realize that all he...

Inspired by the announcement that an adaptation of 80s coin-op Rampage is in the works, here’s a list of ten other 80s videogames we’d like to see in cinemas…
If the news we brought to you on Friday is to be believed, we could soon see a big-screen adaptation of 80s arcade machine Rampage before too long. And with recent years seeing Hollywood take inspiration from such disparate properties as Battleship (out next year), Stretch Armstrong and Asteroids, it seems that the dusty arcades of yesteryear are becoming as inspiring as old board games and half-forgotten toys.
With this in mind, we’ve dredged through the history of the 80s golden age of coin-ops to bring you a few of our own adaptation concepts. Do bear in mind that some of these ideas are better than others, so if you’ve suggestions of your own, feel free to...

From writer/director Eric England, producer Daniel F. Dunn, and actor/producer Ace Marrero, new horror flick Madison County – which had a sold out world premiere at this years ScreamFest – follows a group of college students that travel to a remote, mountain town called Madison County to interview the author of a tell-all book on the accounts of the grisly murders that happened in the town over two decades ago.
Upon their arrival, the author is no where to be found and the townspeople state that they’ve “not seen him in years.” They also deny that Damien Ewell, the notorious murderer, ever existed and that the murders never happened. As the kids start to dig around to get their own answers, they come to find that the stories, and Damien, maybe more real than the townspeople are letting on.
Produced for well under $80,000, Madison County has already been mentioned...

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? Nostalgia de la luz (Nostalgia for the Light) Trailer For all the blowhardy things I say about what makes this trailer a good one or...

Jack Abramoff isn't known as a funny guy, and his story -- an infuriating tale of fraud and political corruption -- isn't funny, either. The former high-rolling lobbyist arguably is one of America's most hated public figures, and his scandalous tenure as a Washington power player only deepened the American public's cynicism about politics.
Given Abramoff's notoriety, mining his story for darkly comic gold is risky. And taking this risk has only a modest payoff in Casino Jack, a stylish and busy movie that's sometimes very funny but isn't quite the smart political satire it could have been.
Casino Jack, which first screened in town on Austin Film Festival's closing night in partnership with The Texas Observer, is a reasonably accurate portrayal of Abramoff's money-fueled machinations, in least in the general sense if not in some of the details. The longtime political operative (and onetime film producer who sullied many...

You can’t always go by your first impressions. When the story of uber-lobbyist Jack Abramoff first hit the news, the media seemed to rejoice in having a hiss-able bad guy. The cable news channels loved running the video of his “perp walk” complete with wardrobe by Boris Badenov ( matching black fedora and trench coat ). Early last year we got to know more of the full story with Alex Gibney’s documentary Casino Jack And The United States Of Money. And now the feature drama based on the true story of D.C. corruption has arrived at movie theatres: George Hickenlooper’s Casino Jack with Kevin Spacey in the title role. With this telling we learn much more about the real man behind the scandals ( and late night TV monologue jokes).
The film opens with a tribute to the first few minutes of Raging Bull. Abramoff stares into a mirror...

As The Expendables appears on DVD and Blu-ray, Duncan got to meet with the legendary Dolph Lundgren to discuss his back catalogue of classic action movies...
For those of us growing up in the 80s, Dolph Lundgren needs no introduction. However, since the interview took place, I've talked to several people, mostly in their late teens/early twenties, who haven't heard of him and I've become increasingly aware of the generation gap. It was a subject which came up in the interview itself, so in the interest of inclusion, following the interview portion, there's a very quick rundown of the films that encouraged such loyal geek fandom starting some twenty-five years ago.
At the interview, the man himself was incredibly polite, friendly and laughed at every available opportunity, also apologising at the beginning and end of our time for not being able to stand up to shake hands. (He was wired in to microphones.

No horror collection is quite complete without a healthy dose of Synapse DVDs on the shelf, right? And now that the company has announced their long-awaited foray into the world of high definition, they've got some absolutely fantastic plans for Blu-ray. And while only one title in this three-fer of exploitation bliss really fits snugly beneath the horror banner, this bears repeating. It really does.
Our friends at Synapse Films told Fangoria to look for Scott Spiegel's slasher classic, Intruder on Blu-ray in 2011. No solid date has been given yet, but Michael Felsher's Red Shirt Pictures will be contributing some supplemental material to the release so you know it's going to be good stuff.
Perhaps even more exciting, however, is Synapse's acquisition of James Glickenhaus' revenge masterpiece The Exterminator! For those of you who haven't seen this unparalleled masterwork of sleaze - think Maniac meets Death Wish...

The Expendables
Directed by: Sylvester Stallone
Cast: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews
Running Time: 1 hr 42 mins
Rating: R
Release Date: August 13, 2010
Plot: A group of contract killers led by Barney (Stallone) go to the island of Vilena to stop an evil dictator and his former CIA partner.
Who’S It For? Testicular fortitude comes to mind when thinking of the appropriate audience. If you’ve sat through a late-night cable action movie starring any one of these guys, then you’re probably willing and able to watch The Expendables.
Expectations: Wesley Snipes, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal weren’t able to join for various reasons, but everyone else is here. I wanted a smash’em up, crash’em up, jolly good time. After all, isn’t that the point of this film?

This weekend, I will be front-row-center at The Expendables. I’ll be the guy with the drool bib on. Now, let me be clear: It’s not because I’m dying to see the side of aged beef that is Sylvester Stallone or soak up the chrome-domed Cockney bad-assery of Jason Statham (who I like a lot). It’s not because of Jet Li, who I could take or leave. And since I never really got all that geeked up about mixed martial arts or professional wrestling, the presence of Randy Couture or “Stone Cold” Steve Austin doesn’t mean that much to me.

With the biggest, greatest, most over the top action film of all time coming out on 19th August in the form of The Expendables (our review here), HeyUGuys is bringing you the ultimate run down of the kill count that these historic action actors have each tallied up.
From throat rips to decapitations, martial art assassins to robotic killers and Yippee Ki-Yay’s to Asta La Vista’s, they have dealt death in every way possible with every weapon imaginable.
Each death reaches the same conclusion but each actor carries it off in their own unique style, often adding a personal touch. Be it an Arnie verbal send off like “Stick Around” after being stuck with a huge knife against a post or adding some humour by playing games with the baddies like John McClane in Die Hard ” Now I have a machine gun, Ho Ho Ho”. Chicago – There’s a memorable moment in “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room,” in which one of director Alex Gibney’s interview subjects compares an Enron press conference to the musical sequence in “Chicago,” where a slickly manipulative lawyer has all of the city’s reporters on marionette strings.
I couldn’t help being reminded of another catchy “Chicago” show tune while watching Gibney’s latest so-infuriating-it’s-entertaining documentary, “Casino Jack and the United States of Money.” It’s the song belted out by Matron Mama Morton, who boasts, “Ask any of the chickies in my pen/They’ll tell you I’m the biggest mother hen/I love ‘em all and all of them love me/Because the system works, the system called/Re-ci-pro-ci-ty.” I suggest that Gibney find a place for this number on his director’s cut. (Currently appearing in this month's Venice Magazine. This is my fourth interview with the ever-engaging Gibney.)
Over the past decade, and particularly during the last five years, Alex Gibney has become one of the most important non-fiction filmmakers in the world, in addition to being arguably the most prolific. His Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, released in 2005, dissects that highly complicated corporate scandal in a manner which is easy to follow for the layman, a challenging task which the mainstream news media never seemed to accomplish. (For proof of that, go ahead and ask the person next to you what happened at Enron.) Over the past decade, and particularly during the last five years, Alex Gibney has become one of the most important non-fiction filmmakers in the world, in addition to being arguably the most prolific. His Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, released in 2005, dissects that highly complicated corporate scandal in a manner which is easy to follow for the layman, a challenging task which the mainstream news media never seemed to accomplish. (For proof of that, go ahead and ask the person next to you what happened at Enron.) His Taxi to the Dark Side, released in 2007, was one of the most effective of the slew of documentaries which have been made on the intersection between the War on Terror and torture of prisoners of war, largely because Gibney focused his...

Director: Alex Gibney Before Jack Abramoff became a highly influential and grossly corrupt Washington D.C. lobbyist for the Preston Gates & Ellis and Greenberg Traurig firms, he was the esteemed Chairman of the College Republican National Committee (1981-1985); and while Chairman, Abramoff is credited for making the College Republicans more activist and more conservative than ever before. It is also worth noting that Grover Norquist served as Abramoff’s executive director and Ralph Reed was hired as an unpaid intern – the infamous Abramoff-Norquist-Reed triumvirate was thus formed. Other highlights on Abramoff’s resume: in 1985, he joined Citizens for America, a pro-Reagan group that helped build support for the Nicaraguan Contras; he also tried his hands at far-right cinema – writing and producing the anti-communist diatribe Red Scorpion (starring Dolph Lundgren) which was released in 1989. We all know something or other about Abramoff’s career as a lobbyist. Thanks to the “maverick” John McCain’s presidential campaign,...

Let’s get this out of the way up front: Casino Jack and the United States of Money is an argument for campaign finance reform. In director Alex Gibney's documentary, we meet characters who subscribe to the free market approach; they believe those who can afford to spread the wealth around the United States capitol are entitled to the influence those funds can gain. The film tries to enrage us by showing how this is common practice, and how it was taken to an extreme during the late '90s and '00s. However, Casino Jack doesn’t try to paint one man or group as the problem, but shows it’s the whole campaign finance system that‘s flawed.
As was the case in Gibney’s Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, his latest shines a light on intelligent men who made fortunes through unsavory practices and fell from grace.

Five years after his now legendary performance as Ivan Drago in Rocky IV, Dolph Lundgren was enjoying considerable success having starred in a trio of films that include Red Scorpion, (the original) The Punisher and as popular toy figure He-Man in Masters of the Universe. The films ranged from okay to just plain awful, but Lundgren had an onscreen presence that was more than just his six foot five frame. The guy had personality and for a native of Stockholm, Sweden, he could easily adopt an American accent. The nineties saw Lundgren in a string of action films that included Showdown in Little Tokyo with the late Brandon Lee, Universal Soldier with Jean-Claude Van Damme and the Keanu Reeves vehicle Johnny Mnemonic which to this day remains Ludgren's last film that had an American theatrical release. By the close of the decade Lundgren's films were only released straight to video sin the U.

After trying his hand at several genres’ including comedy, drama and classic Martial arts director John Woo hit open the sub-genre that would make him famous in 1986. The year would see the release of Heroes Shed no tears (maybe a reissue from '83 I'm not sure) and A better tomorrow. It was these two films that would set...

According to Deadline Hollywood, Kevin Spacey is currently in Washington D.C., paying a visit to Federal Prison so he can meet with ex-lobbyist and scandal magnet Jack Abramoff. Is Spacey somehow involved in one of Jack's frauds? Nope, it's research for a role in his latest film, with his director George Hickenlooper also tagging along.
The two of them are shooting a script by Dead Ringers writer Norman Snider called Casino Jack (which was Abramoff's nickname). They've been negotiating for weeks to get face time with the imprisoned Abramoff, who is apparently a Kevin Spacey fan. That's cute.
The film is likely to cause a bit of a stir if marketed right: it's a Goodfellas-style thriller about Abramoff's corrupt stint in Washington, wheeling and dealing with members of the Bush administration. The film supposedly even involves figures such as Karl Rove, and most likely Tom DeLay as well.
