Australian Mini Series Based on the Ivan Southall Novel

An Excellent story Directed by Di Drew. Starring Madge Ryan (an English Actress) and a group of Aussie Kids - Clayton Williamson, Katharine Cullen, Caitlin Proctor, Jason Di Georgiou, Haydon Samuels, Emma Fowler and Keith Eisenhuth.

Set in the 50s, A group of Kids are left to fend for themselves in the small town of Hills End after a violent storm rips the town apart - while all the adults struggle to make it back.

Great adventure story and well filmed. The database has this as being made in 1989, but I know it was actually filmed in 1987 in Sydney, Australia.

    Excellent little Aussie Drama

Set in the 50's in a small Australian town, 7 kids are left to fend for themselves following a huge storm. There is plenty of adventure with the discovery of Ancient Aboriginal Cave Drawings, an escaped Bull and great visual effects of the town following the storm. The story follows their survival, relationship growth & responsibilities. It featured an Australian Cast with Madge Ryan (a well known English Actress) playing the teacher. It also starred Clayton Williamson (Clowning Around, Elly & Jools, Bodysurfer) and Katharine Cullen (The Girl From Tomorrow). It was Directed by Di Drew and was filmed in Sydney in 1987. A great story for all ages - and one of those series that seemed to go by unnoticed. Very under-rated for the quality. Great Aussie Drama!
