Second sequel for the Biu Family is somewhat entertaining.

In this Hong Kong classic comedy sequel, the Biu Family (Bill Tung, Lydia Sum, Elsie Chan, Loletta Lee and Pauline Kwan) return in another bout with big money troubles and a slew of misadventures. Time time, the family collects their lottery winnings in Canada and returns to Hong Kong to start a new life together, minus the second daughter due to a family quarrel over her boyfriend. After Mrs. Biu shows off her money to her old friends at her bank, she loses it all in a robbery. Now, void of their new found wealth, the Biu Family must start over from scratch again.

The acting was excellent in the movie, and helped deliver an otherwise slower-paced plot than the first two movies. The characters nonetheless still managed to deliver a unique brand of laugh-out-loud humor and deadpan comedy. It's entertaining seeing each of the family members go through misadventures in their lives, especially the part where eldest daughter Da-Dai must deal with her boyfriend (Lowell Lo) and her ex (Eric Tsang) meeting each other. There's also more touches of drama in the movie, like during the scene where second daughter Wai-Dai's boyfriend (Sam Christopher Chow) gets arrested for operating an illegal vendor, throwing more turmoil into the family.

Not the best sequel, but you'll still be somewhat entertained by this family comedy from start to finish!

The third film in the Biu family series.

It'a a Mad, Mad, Mad World (1989) is the third film in the Biu family series. The family learns about having to move back to Hong Kong but Lydia learns about having won the Canadian lottery and the family needs to fly back to Canada before the deadline in order to claim their prize. But they learn the lesson about getting rich quick has many draw backs. Can the Biu family survive the storm and become a loving family once more?

The core unit of the family still remain the same. A few familiar faces return as well. Eric Tsang is back as the ex-boyfriend who wants his girlfriend back. Bill Tung and Lydia Sum along their cast children return for the third installment. More of the same for this one. If you enjoyed the last two then you'll enjoy this one as well.

    Highly recommended.
