During his time on 21 Jump Street (1987), Richard Grieco received more fan mail than any of the other cast members, including Johnny Depp. Due to his rising popularity, the network decided to spin-off Booker into his own series.

Alternate versions
On DVD, the theme song was changed to a generic action piece (entitled "Hot Summer Night") as the rights to "Hot in the City" could not be negotiated.

great fun!

that TV series was on my opinion very funny to watch, it was like an urban "magnum" relooked with a neat photography. the booker character was cool and always managed to squeeze some one-liners in the middle of a very dangerous scene,which was really funny.i spent some good times watching it.it was neat and had no high ambitions,it fulfilled its purposes well.
