In Atlantic City, Amanda (Susan Walters) witnesses her boyfriend killing someone. She testifies against him and gets witness protection. After a mistrial, he comes after her. She gets a plane ticket to L. A. and new identity Bridget Loring as she attends nursing school. Small town girl Rebecca 'Becky' Granger (Kristy Swanson) leaves home despite her parents' objection. Samantha 'Sam' Sullivan (Chelsea Field) has cleaned up, but her mother still refuses to let her see her own kid. These and others live in Nightingale House which is a residence for student nurses.
This TV movie from Aaron Spelling Productions serves as pilot for a TV show which lasted only one season. Some of this is cheesy. The music is either old school or 80's cheese. Kristy Swanson's story is TV cheese. Susan Walters' story comes out of a police crime show. Chelsea Field's story can be interesting if done right. I cannot believe that they did a outfit shopping montage for the girls. That scene is indicative of the lack of seriousness to this medical drama. I was actually going to watch the show, but I am less inclined to do it after watching this movie. That is probably my harshest criticism.
