La ferme paternelle

The director initially wanted to include a castration scene (of a rapist) in this film, but his coworkers persuaded him that the Icelandic moviegoers weren't ready for something that gruesome in an Icelandic film at the time. He revisited the concept some 20 years later in his film Myrkrahöfðinginn (1999).
