Troubles and Strife

I was riveted to this TV series but for totally the wrong reason. It was so bad. I can't imagine how this ever got to air. Not one moment in the entire series was funny, not even a titter. This should be used as an example of how not to make a TV Sitcom, in the same way as "Jumping the shark" has become an example of its kind. Fortunately exact details of this series are now beginning to dim in the dark corners of my memory. The sheer fact of how hideously awful and unfunny it was remains so i am unable to quote any references. Only the last line of the series is left when the Vicar catches the wedding bouquet to which a character exclaimed "Not more trouble and strife". My thoughts were I really really hope not!

Like the other reviewer I only remember this for how dreadful it was.

Totally unfunny from start to finish. It is depressing to see that quality actresses such as Patricia Brake, (Ingrid from Porridge) and Anna Karen, (Olive from On The Buses) lowered themselves to get involved in this dross.

The most amazing thing was that after the first series they brought it back for another! Unbelievable for such an appalling effort that should never have got to transmission in the first place.

I have to confess that I have not seen many sitcoms of the modern era, but I would be surprised if any of them are as veritably awful as this!
