Second Sight: A Love Story

This little gem is perhaps Elizabeth Montgomery's finest performance. She portrays a blind woman who first acquires a guide dog, becomes very attached, then is able to regain her sight and makes a decision that's a real tear-jerker.

Too often we forget what a brilliant talent Ms. Montgomery was, thinking of her only as "Samantha" but this movie is a vivid reminder of her excellence as a dramatic actress.

Unfortunately it's a hard movie to find. Look for it on cable and don't miss it if you have a chance.

Second Sight: A Love Story is a beautiful love story. It is a nice tale of a blind lady who is so independent and content in life, until she falls in love. The guide dog who becomes her companion and her friend has blended so well with this movie. Its only when u see such movies that you tend to realize how wonderful a rose smells, the sounds of birds, the noise of traffic and so many normal events in life that we ignore.

Its a pity that this movie did not get the recognition that it deserves. I happened to watch it on the Film channel at Kuwait. And i enjoyed every minute. Its a poignant tale and its beautifully presented.

A sensitive film about the conditions of a blind lady, how she manages by herself but finally gets fed up with loneliness and finds a loving companion, who nevertheless loses in comparison with the relationship and intimacy she finds in the company of a dog - it's the dog who makes the film. Elizabeth Montgomery makes an impressing performance, quite convincing all the way, and although most of it is predictable, you will enjoy it to the end. It's a heart-warming story of relationships and affection, and like Elizabeth you will never forget that dog.

I am pretty sure that there will be some people who will consider "Second Sight: A Love Story" somewhat drawn out. To a degree that is correct - the movie could have been cut down by a significant portion without hurting the story at all. As it is, it does seem a little too long. Also, I think some people will find the story somewhat predictable. When the blind main character, for example, rides a horse for the first time, can you guess what happens? Yeah, I guessed it as well.

All the same, despite the predictable plot twists and the slow pace, I did find the movie rewarding. For starters, the blind main character has been written to not be one note. Though she is overall sympathetic, there are a few episodes when she acts in an unlikable manner. It's also interesting to see how she deals with many things in her life with her handicap. And there are some scenes of surprising emotion, especially the final sequence. In the end, patient viewers will find enough rewards with this movie

This Movie is that Litmus Test to Humanity... ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY is brilliant... The Dog deserves an Emmy 🏆 A movie with tenderness, empathy, compassion and humanity... Sociopaths should not attempt to watch it because it would mean nothing to them... Others, with tender hearts ❤ take this as a warning that your heart will break wide open... ❤
