I have not seen the movie yet I just ordered it because the summery caught my eye because it is about my life, but I think it will be great!!! I am a female goalie I have been playing ice hockey for 11 years but goalie for 3 of them and I moved to a girls team because the co ed team did not let me try being goalie because I was a girl! It was there loss though. Playing goalie came natural to me and I was on the select team for new england my second year playing goalie! My dad was a goalie that is why I wanted to be a goalie, but I love that you made a movie about this topic because it really does happen in hockey and I am so excited to see the movie I bet it will be great!!!
I remember this movie from when I was a young tyke in the early 80's I think. I taped it on our vcr and I literally watched it almost everyday over summer holidays. I was huge into hockey so that helped. Great film. Highly recommend it!
This is just one of those movies that meant something to me from my childhood. I used to see this movie after school on HBO and always wanted to be Kathy Yarrow. She was this girl who is displaced because of her parents divorce and in a new smaller town where they don't have a girl's hockey team. She battles to get on the boy's team and wins not only making friends and overcoming obstacles that she didn't think was possible but meeting a boy who believed in her too. I will never forget Spear. He was a major crush for me back in the 80's. When I met my husband, we both mentioned this movie and loved it! We ended up finding it in an old video store. It was just something special we had together. I highly recommend this movie and hope that you make new memories and give your kids the opportunity to create their own memories from this great family friendly movie.

Hockey Night is the best movie I have ever watched! I taped it off of Wonderworks and I watch it at least once a month. Yannick Bisson is wonderful. It is a classic love story, Kathy and Spear are made for each other! If you like this movie you have got to see Yannick in Rookies.
I first saw this movie when I was a young girl. And I fell in love with it! Spear and Cathy are great. I love when they "picket" at the tournament against North Bay. And I also like Evelyn a lot as well. It is a good movie about growing up and some of the teen angst that kids used to go through. Too bad in today's society the problems they are facing kids now are drugs and whatnot. It used to be about simpler stuff like sticking up for your friends and fairness in sports. I am now 31 and it is still is one of my favorite movies. My husband bought it off of E-bay for me for a surprise Christmas gift two years ago. I was so happy. I usually end up watching this about every two months or so. Good 80's flick! I would suggest this movie to anyone.
