Noble cat versus an insidious pig or Anime, not at all like anime

Continuation of the series of cartoons about the noble cat Pierrot (Puss in Boots 1969, The Return of Puss in Boots 1972), which I have not watched, and will not do it. And at the same time - a free film adaptation of the famous novel by the French writer Jules Verne "Around the World in 80 Days". A cartoon from my childhood, which I watched to the holes on VHS cassette. And then I recently remembered about it and decided to talk about a really excellent and worthy cartoon, which puts on its shoulder almost everything that came out over the past twenty years. And here's my brief opinion - Anime, not at all like anime. I will say right away that there are no shortcomings in the cartoon, well, perhaps the small timing, because I was eager to see more adventures. Therefore, I will focus your attention on the merits of this masterpiece cartoon, now forgotten. So, here they are: 1.Scenario - the cartoon tells the story of the noble cat Pierrot, who made a bet with the richest master of London Grumon - a pig. Pierrot must travel around the world in 80 days. If he does this, then Grumon will lose his fortune, if Pierrot loses, then Grumon will be his master forever. Without thinking twice, Pierrot, together with his faithful friends, hurry to the road. On the way, they will encounter obstacles, and Grumon will in every possible way interfere with Pierrot's victory. The script is a free interpretation of the famous novel, where instead of people, the world is inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, and real geographic objects are slightly distorted. But this does not prevent you from having fun. The gag turned out to be quite good, and does not hurt the ear and logic. 2. Naivety - this cartoon is made for children, so the villains are the most obvious here, and they laugh viciously right in the face of the viewer. The heroes are noble, somewhat stupid, but with a kind heart. Which, if they commit rash acts, but only with a noble purpose. This is now lacking in modern cartoons. 3. Morality - be kind, noble, courageous, do not leave your friends in trouble. The world is full of dangers: sworn enemies, mother nature, female deceit. Never give up. All this is presented in a simple way, but children will easily understand these simple truths. 4. Drawing - the cartoon was made in Japan, but it doesn't look Japanese at all. If I didn't know, I would think that he was painted in Europe or the USA. Classic 2D animation that pleases the eye of an old man whose childhood was in the mid-nineties and early 2000s, like me. You can call it grumbling and whining, it makes no difference to me. I love and that's it! 5. Humor - since a cartoon for children, how can we do without humor? And he is here. What is especially striking, in the Soviet dubbing, some heroes speak with such touching voices, portraying villains and not only that this fact alone makes watching a cartoon strictly mandatory, and more than once will make you laugh. A little about the main characters: 1. Pierrot is a noble cat who decides to argue against Monsieur Grumont, which becomes the beginning of a grandiose journey. Clever, cunning, ladies' man. In the first cartoons, he was only an assistant to people, but here he is the main character. A role model. It is a pity that we never saw his further adventures. 2. Grumon is a pig, and an insidious one, who thinks that his opinion is the only correct one. A snob and an insanely rich gentleman who intends with all his might to prevent Piero from winning a bet. An example of a typical villain, not deprived of money and power. 3. Kato is a hippopotamus, a loyal friend of Pierrot, a little slow, but with a kind heart and brute strength that will help you on your journey more than once. An example of the protagonist's assistant, whom you empathize with and support with all your heart. These, of course, are not all the characters, but the rest are worthy of your attention, like the cartoon itself. If you haven't watched it, drop everything and run to fill in this gap, and don't forget the child. Let him learn something good, and you will plunge into childhood for a short time, because the cartoon goes on for a little over an hour. My rating is 9 out of 10 and my recommendation for viewing!
