A wonderful technologically advanced film for the 1980's about Today's Horizons

Today's Horizons, is the name that I give to this film showing the advances in science and technology that were occurring at the creation of this film in the early 1980's. The film contained elements of computer graphics and shots of crystals at the molecular level all on IMAX formatted film. The film was shown on 2 eight story high screens and created the sense that you were enveloped in the movie. It was wonderfully done, has a great music score to it, and was years ahead of it's time. It truly makes me sad to not be able to see this film any longer.

A dream of its time....now gone forever.

Horizons was pretty much Carousel of Progress part 2. A vision of the future with a much bigger look. the Omnisphere movie bridged the gap from the past to the future. The images were amazing as you travelled slowly, suspended way up there in the middle. The images told of what would build the future.

It all worked. It really did.

And now the ride is gone, replaced by a spin and barf, if you pardon the expression. This is one film that hopefully someday may be re-released. So many Disney classics re-released, with the exception of inpark movies. Hopefully, that is a hint for the future, a message, Disney! Release these wonderful movies!

    Completly Excellent!

This is a very well done film. It is part of a former Walt Disney World attraction, and even though it is almost twenty years old, a has a great charm. It shows "new" technology through IMAX and instead of being outdated, the film is very fun. Right now the attraction is closed, but it may reopen.
