Demon Slayer has become one of the best and most popular shonen action anime series of the current era. It's a straightforward but charming and gripping story about protagonist Tanjiro Kamado and his quest to restore his sister Nezuko's humanity while fighting demons, and there is plenty of carnage along the way. More than a few characters have already lost their lives in Demon Slayer, including major ones, and many more will perish in future seasons.

Looking back, it's no surprise when "redshirt" characters like Ozaki die in the anime, but it's a total shock when powerful heroes perish in battle, and it's an immense relief when the strongest villains also die in combat. Now, Demon Slayer fans can take stock of who's been killed off so far in the anime and what it means and see how it raises the stakes for future seasons.

On May 30, digital media company Brat TV released the first episode of the second season of College Years, a spin-off of the Chicken Girls franchise. Steven Universe Future and Steven Universe as a whole have utilized metaphors in very powerful ways. Fusion alone is one of the series’ biggest, standing in for intimacy of all kinds. Even in recent episodes, Steven turning pink and dealing with his Gem fueled dreams seemed to be continuing the series’ use of metaphors.

“Growing Pains” however rips the series out of the realm of metaphors and into plain text. When Steven starts morphing in grotesque ways, Connie forces him to go see her mother at the hospital. It’s there that Steven has a bombshell dropped on him. Connie’s mother figures out that Steven’s body is reacting to trauma, even if it’s in a Gem-like way. They don’t give it a Gem name or try to make it seem alien. She flat out tells Steven he’s dealing with trauma.

Has there ever been a bigger case of second hand embarrassment in the Steven Universe series than this episode? From the moment Steven said he was going to propose to Connie I just stood up and yelled, “No!” It wasn’t like watching a train go off the rails. It was like watching a train slowly go off the rails only to hit a freeway and then spin out of control before hurtling off a cliff into the water where it somehow sinks to the bottom of the ocean only to slip into the earth’s core before finally being put out of its misery.

On first watch this episode just feels like it’s torture for the audience. We know Connie isn’t going to accept Steven’s proposal. We know what she’s like.

“Together Forever” and “Growing Pains” are the most heart-stopping pair of episodes yet of Steven Universe Future. “Together Forever” begins mundanely as usual, with the eponymous Steven (Zach Callison) skyping with his human companion Connie (Grace Rolek) and discussing her college plans. The government is watching, and while it’s not yet evident how much it knows about Blak Tek and its experiments, the revelation that it’s out there and paying attention adds another intriguing layer to the chaos taking place in the Western United States. And even though Vanessa’s still trapped in an alternate world with the Dark One, her daughters more than make up for her absence.

It’s telling that the first feature-length film to come out of Italy was Dante’s Inferno (1911). Because of course, what else would it be? A silent, 68-minute adaptation of the classic poem that, quite memorably, features Satan munching on the souls of the damned. Depending on your age, you may be interested to know that Feb. 6 marks the 50th birthday of either pop singer Rick Astley - or as you may better know him - the British guy from that video prank meme. Massimo Dallamano may be best known to some as the cinematographer of Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965), credited under the pseudonym Jack Dalmas. Following his collaborations with Leone, Dallamano would only serve as cinematographer twice more (his last credit being French director Michel Deville’s 1966 comedy The Mona Lisa Has Been Stolen starring George Chakiris and Marina Vlady). Earlier this month, The Simpsons showrunner Al Jean dropped a bombshell, revealing that Homer and Marge Simpson will be getting 'legally separated' in the Season 27 premiere "Every Man's Dream", airing Sunday, September 27 on Fox. He went on to say that Homer ends up falling for his pharmacist, voiced by Lena Dunham. Many fans were left wondering if this separation is going to be permanent and result in divorce. Madrid — Renowned Cuban pianist Bebo Valdes, a composer and bandleader who recorded with Nat "King" Cole, was musical director at Havana's legendary Tropicana Club and a key participant in the golden age of Cuban music, has died in Sweden at age 94.

The news of his death was confirmed by Cindy Byram, the agent of Valdes' son Chucho Valdes, who is a well-known musician in his own right. A cause of death was not given.

The senior Valdes studied piano and later taught it to Chucho (Jesus Dionisio Valdes), who went on to become a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Cuban-based jazz band Irakere.

The father began playing accompaniments at Havana's famous night clubs in the 1940s. He then worked with singer Rita Montaner as her pianist and arranger from 1948 to 1957, when she was the lead cabaret act at the Tropicana.

So, when I first heard that I had to brush up on True Blood, I was not excited. I mean, honestly, I thought the show (created by Alan Ball, from Six Feet Under and American Beauty) was primarily a vehicle for naked people and violence. Sure, that's a huge component of the show, but not the whole show: here is a journey into my life as I watched about 2-4 episodes of True Blood every day. It was not pretty.

So, when I first heard that I had to brush up on True Blood, I was not excited. I mean, honestly, I thought the show (created by Alan Ball, from Six Feet Under and American Beauty) was primarily a vehicle for naked people and violence. Sure, that's a huge component of the show, but not the whole show: here is a journey into my life as I watched about 2-4 episodes of True Blood every day. It was not pretty.

In 1986, the Beastie Boys set out on the Raising Hell Tour with LL Cool J, Whodini and Run-dmc, and the chemistry between the groups was instantaneous. Adam Yauch, one-third of the Beasties, died Friday (May 4) after a three-year battle with cancer, and both Rev Run and Dmc reached out to MTV News to share their personal memories of Yauch and the Beastie Boys from the days they spent together, early in their respective careers.
