A former enlisted soldier turned officer who as a Sergeant was a
survivor of the Battle of Lang Vei during the Vietnam War. By the end
of his U.S. Army career as a Green Beret, he earned the Silver Star,
Bronze Star and other personal awards. He also was authorized to wear
Jump Master wings from 15 countries and assisted the Rhodesian Army
with airborne operations. He became a professional soldier and a member
of the Rhodesian Selous Scouts during the 1970's and owned a parachute
training center in the 1980's after returning to the United States. He
was the technical adviser for "Red Dawn" in 1984.
