    Australian humour "70"s style

'Norman Gunston' was a must view in Australia in the 1970"s. There was nothing else like it on TV ( except Aunty Jack ).In Australia we had a plethora of UK and USA comedies that did not (obviously) reflect our culture. The way Norman Gunston changed television humour is still reflected in some of TV. There was never an interviewer of 'A' Class celebrities that presented themselves like this! Classics are Paul Mc Cartney and Linda McCartney. Norman says to Linda, 'Funny... You don't look Japanese?'Paul and Linda loved him, and laughed as did Gun'n'Roses. Please look up his interviews. The sad part is some did not take too well to it. The mentally ill Keith Moon stands out. Garry McDonald battled mental health issues himself, but, as most comedians do, used comedy as therapy. (RIP Robin Williams). Please look up 'Mother and Son', written by Garry, and starring Ruth Cracknell. Also look up when Gough Whitlam is dismissed as PM and Norman is there. Sums up everything. Enjoy the genius of 'Norman Gunston'. (in my opinion
