A terrorist group that goes by the name of the Black Cross Army is turning Japan upside down. So the U.N. has assembled the EAGLE military unit who has selected five soldiers to form team Goranger. A super task force that has what it takes to take down Black Cross Army's legion of super powered freaks.
Created by Shotoro Ishimori, creator of Cyborg 009, Kamen Rider, 009-1, & Skull Man. Has brought a franchise to life, as if it weren't for this series, then there wouldn't of been a Super Sentai. If there was never a Super Sentai, there would never have been a Power Rangers.
The story for this series is great, even though it really shows it's age compared to the newer Sentai series. You'll along see some Ishimori references including the use of cyborgs. And it also shows where the Super Sentai elements originated from too.
I highly recommend it if you want to see the earliest of the Super Sentai series.

The thing I really hate about this show is the editing, I didn't edit the footage, it sometimes jump-cuts, it has too much of those stupid Callish-splosions. And the models look extremely obvious, it's worse when you watch the fight scenes, it is not too far off Manos in ugliness. Like? Is my monitor broken?
I am a huge Sentai and Power Rangers fan. That in mind, I hated this show. Man Sentai really had a rough start. The plot is nonexistent, the writing is atrocious, the suits look unfinished and the "monsters" are barely monsters and just laughably bad, the fight scenes looked like they just got some random people off the street to make them, the special effects even for 75'-77' are bad, random side characters that are only in one episode get more character development and focus than the actual main characters. No character development at all for any of the main characters in all 84 episodes which should be criminal for a show this long. Oh and to top it all off you get the typical Showa era Kenny kid as a recurring character where his only purpose is to be an annoying obnoxious idiot that gets kidnapped a lot because of course. God this show is bad, I sat through all 84 episodes of this garbage. Do yourself a favor and skip this one, it's not worth it.
"Secret Task Force Goranger" is not only the first sentai series, it's the best, and longest lasting (84 episodes). Sentai is a military term, it means taskforce. Unlike the characters in most of the later sentai series the Gorangers are professional soldiers, trained for combat.
There are no giant robots in this series so the action focuses on the fiver rangers themselves. Fans of Kamen Rider V3 will recognize the blue ranger (he played Kazami Shiro).
The only major flaw in this series is that it used as background music themes actually composed for "Jinzo Ningen Kikaida" and "Inazuman" (along with original music).
