An average, but quite entertaining and fast-paced, actioner with WWII as a background

"Sto koni do stu brzegow" (A hundred horses to a hundred banks) is an adaptation of the novel by the famous publicist and writer Kazimierz Kozniewski. The film is a thriller-adventure drama based on the story of a journey through occupied Europe by an "underground" courier transporting an important shipment from Poland to England. WWII is here a mere background for pure entertainment. I enjoyed watching the movie, even though I had some problems with the credibility of the plot and main characters. Also, people who have read the original novel by Kozniewski usually say the book was much better, but I haven't read it. For me, there are three things to remember in this movie. First of all, the heroes are not people associated with the communist underground but with the Western Allies. Secondly, the plot takes place in many countries and goes beyond the Iron Curtain. Thirdly, it was quite a successful debut for Tomasz Stockinger, who in the following years became a star of Polish cinema.
